If you were Brucie how would you set us up?

Remember O'Shea is out of the game and Bramble and Turner are short of match fitness.

I personally hope we go in with...

    --------------------- Mignolet ---------------------

    -- Bardsley --- Ferdinand --- Brown --- Richardson --

    ------------ Gardner ----------Cattermole ----------

    Larsson --------------------------------- Sessegnon

    --------------------Ji ------- Gyan -----------------

    subs

Turner, Bramble, Westwood, Vaughan, Colback, Elmohamady, Wickham

Not to keen on Sessegnon on the left wing but who else is there? We need a winger in before next week so we can play Sess behind Gyan. The only option's I can see who could play the left wing role for us are the 3 youngsters James McClean, Jordan Cook and Roarie Deacon and it would be one hell of a risk throwing them in the deep end.

    I agree with your back 5 but I think Bruce will be a tad more cautious than to go with a flat 4-4-2. I think;

    Larssen......gardner.....Catts........Vaughan/Colback
    .................................Sess.......................................

    ................................Gyan...................................

For me its got to be a strong back 4, 2 holding midfielders and a fluid forward quartet that can get back and forward all day. Effectively, its a solid midfield 5 when we dont have the ball, or equally an attacking 4 when we do. Anton should play but at RB for me (he is very comfortable there) and Bardo at LB as he is the best player in that position at the club and he will snuff Johnson's threat out of the game totally. Here we go then:

    Mig

    Ferdinand, Brown, Bramble, Bardo

    Catts, Colback

    Larsson, Gardener, Sess

    Gyan

Subs: Westy; Turner; Muhammady; Richardson; Vaughan; Won; Wickham

I agree and think he will go for Vaughan's experience and maturity. Colback unlucky, but his time will come.

Vaughan for LW ahead of Colback. I'm a big Colback fan and thought he was excellent at the end of last season and in pre-season but I heard things about him looking weak out wide which is understandable. However I still reckon Colback might start. Bruce has been full of praise for the lad so I wouldn't be surprised if he started.

    -------------------Mingolet------------------------

    ---Anton------Brown-------Bramble--------Bardsley------

    ---Larsson---Gardener--Catts---Richardson/Vaughan---

    -------------------------Sess-------------------------

    --------------------------Gyan------------------------

Bramble will play IMO. Richardson may seem ****e LW, but I think that he should be given a chance to prove himself there. I can't see Bruce starting with anything other than Sessengon behind Gyan.

Just remembered Colback, maybe him LM? No idea, but didn't Bruce say he wasnt gonna drop him after his good pre-season?

Why dont we play a left winger in the Left wing spot?

I.e. Give Richardson a chance to make the position his own. He's not a left back and Sess is our second striker so IMO give him a chance

    Mig

    Anton - Bramble - Brown - Bardo

    Larsson - Catts - Gardner - Richardson

    Sess - Gyan

    Simples!

Agree with this line up as it looks like our strongest option. Catts in the holding/supporting role with Gardiner helping and attacking when given the chance.
