So how do you think we'll get on?

2016/17:

Wigan Athletic (h)

The Magpies return to home league action when they host the Latics on Saturday week, April 1st. It's a 3pm kick-off and tickets are on public sale now.

There will be another NUFC Foodbanks collection, on Strawberry Place opposite the club shop from 1pm.

NUFC: There's some optimism that Isaac Hayden may return to the squad, but DeAndre Yedlin remains out along with long-term absentee Rolando Aarons.

There are doubts about Daryl Murphy, Ciaran Clark, Grant Hanley and Rob Elliot after the quartet all withdrew from international duty with injuries.

Paul Dummett is playing on despite a heel problem that has required pain-killing injections and saw him omitted from the latest Welsh squad. Ghana don't have any matches in this international break, meaning that Christian Atsu isn't playing. And while Senegal have a couple of friendlies, Mo Diame won't feature - having confirmed his retirement.

WAFC: Will Grigg has a knee injury.

Attempting to avoid a return to League One at the first time of asking, Wigan have put coach Graham Barrow in charge for the rest of the season.

That follows the sacking of Gary Caldwell in October and the more recent exit of his replacement, Warren Joyce.

The Latics have enjoyed better fortunes away from home this season, winning at Cardiff, Huddersfield, Wolves, Burton and Birmingham. They also drew at Leeds, Brentford, Barnsley and Derby.

Predicting Newcastle this season is quite tricky. I only hope we put a shift in and build some attacking play without solely relying on the counter. We're playing a struggling championship team so there's no excuse not to take a few risks.

You don't know Rafa too well do you <laugh> It'll be cagey!

We are crap at home because we play the same defensive formation at home.
Murphy up front please

Rafa came out with some tosh claiming our home woes were due to the opposition being harder to break down as they play more defensively. Erm, was he even at the Fulham game??

More to do with him setting up to counter attack. His tactics are wrong at home. Bleating on about sacrificing a midfielder. No, you just stop playing a dm, drop Diame into CM and play Gayle with someone.
