Yes, they had a rubber seal inside the plastic cap.Sykes pop van was our first. They had skinnier bottles. Alpine followed a few years later and had bigger bottles with a sort of rubber suction top.

I haven't been through Hylton Castle for years, what pubs are left now? is the Cauld Lad still there? Probably flattened now like just like the Slipway and Schooner at TEF.
