I think you need to go for a walk or sign off for a while. Nobody argues with Tom more than me, but strangely enough we manage to do it without abusing each other.

Because you are possessed of almost superhuman levels of patience.

For the record, today was the worst display of officiating I have seen in a long, long time. Simply awful from both ref and lino.

Were the linesmen the same ones as were with Marriner at Wembley?
Just wondering if the Lino, who flagged Gabby offside at Wembley, was the same one who got the Redmond out of play and the Tadic penalty shout wrong.
Would be a good hat trick if it was.

I think we were undone by our lack of games, leaving us a little off the pace for most of the first half.
As has already been said, we didn't get the rub at all, from balls rebounding to the important, game changing decisions.
Had Tadic got a penalty, should have been 2-1 HT, then Prowsey's goal makes it 2-2 .
Steve Davis can do a job at DM, but not against the better teams that high press and have great movement. He allowed himself to be turned a few times, by getting too tight, none more so than the first goal.
In his defence he is an attacking midfielder, filling a role for the team.

Shane Long was awful today. I'd much rather keep Rodriguez this summer than him.

Only as far as he was outwitted by an efficient off side trap, but wasn't offside every time, just given offside every time when there was the slightest doubt. It was getting to him and messing his mind, making him look worse than he actually was.

Yep, not in the mood for patience today either. Andre is the kind of ref that makes me want all the men in black sit round a table on Friday freaking night & then just tell us the results for Saturday. Bell ends......

Given that he's scored just 11 goals in 174 games for us (as well as 0 goals in 25 games for Fulham, and 9 goals in 102 games for Villa), I'm not sure how much of a defence that is.

Exactly this. He was a constant threat with space to run into, & Vertonghen and Alderweirald new it. It just didn't fall for him.

Also, this'll be the Shane Long who got us to Wembley.

Did you go to The Onslow much? My old band played there quite a lot in the 80's.
Sorry - been offline for a few days - went there a lot in the late 70's and early 80's up until around 1984. Then left the area for London and further afield and came back to Hampshire in 2007 - via Africa - and now been in Dubai these last four years. Eastleigh born but home for me is Romsey.

What was the band's name?

Not as short as my last one, I am still accepting the blame for losing to WestHam

Well, you did cause the WHU blip which saw them win their only game in like forever! <laugh>
(read it in blue if of a sensitive disposition)

Guilty as charged, but took the bullet to protect the next poster, but that didn't pan out either!
