Good result of course but look at their goal difference, more than 50 gols against, next worst team -16.

At the other end Fulham have 3rd best GD with +19 but not so prolific recently - really glad we nicked Matt Smith off them. Sheff Wed opened the door for Fulham with that final playoff spot, but they've spurned the opportunity and only picked up a point in last two matches.

I think Ollie and the team passed this test with flying colours!

What is even better if that we can fluidly change the formation and play efficiently, plus get results.

It all bodes very well for next season. :)

Rotherham moved a step closer to Championship relegation as QPR inflicted a 12th-straight away defeat.

The Millers are now 24 points adrift of safety - the exact number left to play for - but a goal difference of -54 has all-but sealed their fate.

Matt Smith lashed in after five minutes before Joe Newell's 25-yard strike and Luke Freeman's poked goal made it 2-1.

Yeni Ngbakoto scored a penalty, Massimo Luongo headed in and Nedum Onuoha added a late fifth to complete the victory.
At the start of the day Rotherham could have seen their drop to League One confirmed, but Blackburn's 2-2 draw with Preston before kick-off ensured that they would hang on for another week, regardless of their result.

However, Paul Warne's side had taken just one point on the road all season and were soon behind, with Smith firing in a volley after good work from Idrissa Sylla.

Newell's stunning volley levelled the game, but hesitant Millers defending allowed Freeman through on goal less than a minute later and he beat Lewis Price to put QPR back in front.

The home side extended their lead straight after the break as Ngbakoto converted from the spot after Aymen Belaid's foul on Smith and Luongo's first goal for the club from Ngbakoto's cross made their lead comfortable.

Conor Washington struck the post before Onuoha converted a free-kick with a tap-in in injury time to round off Rotherham's 29th league defeat of the season.

The comfortable win is Rangers' fifth in seven games, while Rotherham, who have a goal difference of 40 worse than fourth-from-bottom Burton to overturn, will see their three-season stay in the Championship finally come to an end if they fail to beat Fulham on 1 April.

I think Smith and Freeman have been outstanding signings that have given us a new dimension going forward, all credit to Ollie for getting them in and putting the emphasis on goalscoring...

Agreed, especially as they seemed pretty ordinary signings. I was also really against the return of Ollie, so glad he's proved me wrong. Seems a thoroughly decent chap too.

We looked good and strong in those brief highlights, and probably should've had a couple more. Cracking goal for their consolation, a few weeks back our heads would've gone down amd we would've possibly lost that - a great turnaround by Ollie - keep it up boys!

Holloway hoping Luongo is ‘freed up’ by first QPR goal

QPR manager Ian Holloway was delighted to see Massimo Luongo finally score his first goal for the club in the 5-1 thrashing of Rotherham.

The Australian midfielder, making his 63rd appearance for the R’s, netted his team’s fourth goal in a resounding win at Loftus Road – their fourth consecutive home victory.

Holloway said: “I’m delighted. The boy has been fantastic for the club and it (not scoring) does play on your mind.

“He’s been absolutely outstanding and all he’s needed is a goal. Hopefully that will free him up. He thoroughly deserves it.

“It was a header too – the lads are killing him over that, saying ‘How can you score with your head?!’

“It was very pleasing. The celebrations after it said a lot and the good news is that spirit is growing.”

Matt Smith put Rangers ahead after five minutes and Luke Freeman restored the lead following Joe Newell’s stunning equaliser.

Yeni Ngbakoto’s penalty four minutes into the second half made it 3-1, Luongo headed home eight minutes later, and skipper Nedum Onuoha netted in injury time.

“I didn’t enjoy the first half at all. We scored early and it looked like we thought we’d done enough,” said Holloway.

“We didn’t move the ball sharply or press, but luckily we managed to get another goal and then the second half I was delighted with.

“In the end we got what we deserved, but we’ve got to keep going.

“Let’s hope we can get a group of players who believe they can win on a regular basis.

“At the minute, our stats are telling me that’s what we’re doing.”

Dreads maybe - seeing yours reminds me how they are usually falling down, as long as that Crouch bloke isn't around
