I think that the mangement are doing a stirling job with the players signed. Generally they are of the following: 1. Hungry and point to prove 2. The right age 3. Experience in this league or above 4. Genuinley excited about the project that we have here. The above players (Yakubu etc) although have quality, they have been around the block a bit, will have big wage demands, and I don't think its the type of players they bare looking for, and for reasons. Let them go to Leicester.
Carew, Keane, Yak....Do we want aging players on large wages? Connolly has premier league experience and offers that little class and i'm sure on half the wages demanded by the above mentioned. Vela seems a little lightweight to me, Macheda is the only one you've mentioned which really raises an eyebrow and I think a loan move is plausible, but I see Manchester United preferring to send him to a fellow Premier League side or to La Liga
You look at a lot of the teams in this league and they are scattered with loan players. Yes they might be of prem calibre but would they sweat blood for the shirt and I don't think they would. Our side is good enough for this league especially if they keep the team spirit and belief they have shown. I think Adkins is very astute about his signings and he will take all of this into consideration. I would rather we buy than take a loan. Sometimes loans can work but is it worth taking the risk?
Well said. I'm truly tired of the expensive has-beens that get bounded around on this board. Why, just why. We have great continuity, in fact I'd say the best in the Championship, why would anyone want to chance spoiling that for some prem-reject on £20k a week. Not for me thanks.
Didn't a Leicester fan say they were paying 50k a week for the Yaks services last season, if so thats madness. Madness for us anyway, it just wouldn't be right to have one or two marquee signings on much higher money than anyone else. That squad harmony we seem to have at the moment may just evapotate and it could end up doing more harm than good. I wonder what type of wages Maynard would be wanting? Jay Rod, I have a feeling, would be a little less.
Martyn Waghorn has alot of potential .. but i could never see leicester letting a potenial star leave!! What about kilgallen.. i keep seeing his name pop off.. How much would he be worth and would you like him to in the red n white stripes?
Then he's deff worth a punt!! but.... In regards to Maynard or Rodrigues.. we could offer money plus players.. As maynard i'd offer barnard maybe~??? Or for Rodriegues.. i'd offer mills/Dickson plus Barnard
"As maynard i'd offer barnard maybe~???" Hell no! No no no. What was that song by 2unlimited? Yeah that. no no no no noo no
We don't need another striker... Lambert and Barnard have a great understanding and partnership. Guly is versatile for any forward positions, and Connolly is in fine form and has tons of experience. And with us only being allowed 5 subs it means more competition for places as it is... Why adding to it, therefore causing more problems...
I'm backing Barnard to succeed. He'll not walk into the team, but just wait till he gets a sniff. The biggest problem we will have with Lee is Oct. But still, I'm right behind him.
