For a left back seems to be getting few goals. Only 16 as well. Few more years in first team at Fulham would be best for him rather than a move now
We are being linked with Dembele of Celtic for £40m. I hope not there is a reason he only cost them £500,000 from Fulham, he would never hack it in the English Prem.
Nobody is going to pay £40m for a kid playing in Scotland with a single (good) season behind him. Scotland is a joke league, especially if you're playing for Celtic. Players like Jelavic had amazing stats in Scotland, came to England and was bang average. Dembele could be good, but no one will know until he moves to a proper league and no one will pay that until he's playing in a proper league.
yeah. its all big talk but celtic cannot hold im nor can they afford him pulling a bad season on them. he will go for 25
Think he's real worth is £15-20m, he's young, highly rated and has had a good season scoring goals (even if it is Scotland) In Reality I'm with MITO on this Celtic will demand around £25-30m, but would settle for £20m+, so probably go for low 20s.
Emre Can... Hmmmm....would explain why he's been so poor. He's admitted here that he couldn't get into games. Why was he allowed to play so much if this was the case?
I think its talk. He his every major one liner possible in that press publication "positive talks" "wants to be here" "not about money" the fact is he's come out after getting a goal to speak up and try twist the clubs arm to increase their offer. When someone speak publicly about their contract i nthis way typically its not just about getting questioned on it. He wants to speak and wants to put it on the club to offer more to him I am pretty sure having seen this that they reached an impasse some time ago and he's angling for more moeny as the club leaked recently (and yes theres always two sides, i'm sure the club leaked the money demands to force his hand too)
not really.... I am slightly skeptical given the injury was what 6 months ago.... however.... I cannot help looking at the state of coutinho having returned from his own injury and wondering about how we are getting guys back fit now. I'd give can some out for 3/4 months but not for past 3
The injury he's referring to isn't the one sustained at the start of the season. He's been carrying a new one for a few months - Klopp even said the same thing.
I doubt the injury effects his brain though..either way..unlike with Sturridge, Henderson etc don't be giving him a big contract until he can prove he can play 100% for a few games in a row.. Had enough of excuses from this lot of players...it's always something..and then promises of a reboot that lasts a match or two. Just not good enough. Yeah he's young etc etc but we've seen enough mediocre players come through and waited for that almighty "development" that we can start to smell another damp squib of a player...I think Can is another one..
I'm looking at what we have and I think you may well be right, Hendo is better in the deep role and he's not great there Can is not an improvement. He's no good further forward so if we are going to try and improve the midfield then he's the one getting the chop. Either that or we're not buying a midfielder and Klopp wants what we have.
Well, we have to do something. Barring a total disaster we should expect European competition on some level next season and on the evidence of the last few months we might as well not bother. The abject performances against lower-placed opposition don't bode well for the long haul.
I'm sure that better players in and we will improve, LB, LCB stand out. Milner has done well but he's not a long term solution there, I hope he stays as cover. I think we're too lightweight in the middle in games where we have to battle so someone in there would be good and then pace on the left so that we can stretch teams. 4 players isn't much to ask for with what we've recenty spent. It's also not tearing up the team and starting again.
