Tom you are a referee, not a mind reader. You've assumed he meant it.

Also, unprovoked? So Zlatan didn't throw him to the floor and stamp on him then?

Double standards. Seems our very own referee is also effected by the big club personalities.

    :)

If you didn't think Zlatan tried to stamp on Mings, yet you are certain Mings deliberately stamped on zlatan, then you are as bad as them with the double standards Tom.

Sorry mate but to declare one as you knowing it was deliberate and the other as not, shows one of the big problems with referees; not enough of them have played the game properly. As a player, it is clear to me that Zlatan tried to stamp on Mings. Clearer than Mings' one. For me I actually think Mings probably tried to be clever in how he knew where Zlatans head was and put his foot there, trying to disguise it.

For you to say one was and the other wasn't shows either a lack of understanding or bias. Perhaps he same with the referee on the day.

There is only one major injustice here. Zlatan's ban should be retrospective and back dated to the middle of February, cancelling out any goal scored, say, on the 26 February. I think United were playing someone that day!

As with any meting out of "justice" the outcome is judged not the action. There was a classic experiment some years ago when a group of people were asked to "pass sentence" on a guy who'd left his car at the top of a hill with its handbrake off. If in the story the car rolled harmlessly down the hill, people let him off. If it careered into a supermarket killing a child and her granny then they'd string him up. Similarly, stamping on an opponent is nasty. But it can occur without intent. So too can catching someone with an elbow when jumping for a ball. It appears that Zlatan intended to elbow. Given that, 3 matches seems the least he could get*. It is clear the jury is out on the stamping. Then comes down to benefit of the doubt.

    * Obviously, for the offence of intentionally playing for Man Utd, compounded by scoring two goals against us at Wembley, he should be fined £4.2 zillion and banned for life

Even if Mings didn't mean that stamp it's a red card for serious foul play anyway. It is extremely dangerous to make contact with someone's head like that.

Sorry. I bow to your superior knowledge on this, but are you saying that any potentially "dangerous act" is a red card. Collision of heads isn't great for your health, should both players be red carded? And what about those brave forwards who dive in with their head when a defender is swinging his boot to clear the ball. If the brave/foolhardy forward is struck on the head, are you saying the defender must walk? Clarity, please!

That bloody divot on the pitch that did for Jay 3 years ago was clearly dangerous. City should have had their stadium closed on this logic.:emoticon-0100-smile

Especially when 'experts' like Paul Merson are guiding people. I assume only 'Sky' people can vote.?

Punishment for being clumsy should be less than being deliberate!

Sky doesn't like my anti-tracking software. Normally that's a joy because I don't have to put up with all the **** that most people get bombarded with on the Net, but just occasionally one has to pause it to allow things to happen. Resumed now, but not before I voted for Kane. No, just kidding, Gabby.! And he's only 1% behind now. Guess we're getting the help of Arsenal fans. ;)

Calm, calm. I know it feels disgustingly dirty, but you don't need to log in or register on the Sky site. I myself am going off to wash my hands and the left button on the mouse I clicked. :)

For pity's sake. There is now a special thread for this madness. Vote for anyone but Gabbadini. We must not let the football world know we have unearthed a potentially great striker. Tell all your mates he's crap and vote for Kane. Just get a grip, people.

Looks like I got something started here. He's storming it now at 37% with a 7% lead. :1980_boogie_down:

It must be all our doing obviously. :)

EDIT: Didn't realise you could just switch browser to vote again. Good job you all know what you are doing!
