We have many others JMF. Ebou Adams and Jaiyesimi scored brilliant goals last night and must be pushing for places. Middleton is still only 17 and his time will come. Efete, McGrandles and Cantwell and others will also be coming on. At least they have a chance now.

I agree with all those and I've managed to see them perform in the under 23 games.
We've both forgotten Grant who is on loan at National League Dagenham and Redbridge.

I was looking through Twitter comments before bed last night. I scanned through so many tweets before I believed the score again! I couldn't believe after such a bright start, it ended up 5-1 for the third game in a row between the two sides!
 
Just watching Arsenal Extended highlights. Walcotts goal was fantastic. The dribbling, and the furious finish! The kind of goal Messi or Ronaldo would have been shown all over the place. Nice to see.

It was a foul, it was a Penalty. 1 goal from Bayern was 100% tie over anyway. A Penalty is punishment enough. I don't think anyone from Bayern would have been angry if only a yellow was shown.

Just needs some common sense.

Yes, JMF, Grant is certainly another and he's getting some valuable match experience at D&R, but he won't feature for us this season. I'll be surprised if Maddison and Godfrey don't get at least a sub appearance against Blackburn, assuming of course that those starting do their job properly.

When was the last time 'those starting' actually did their jobs properly, Rick? :emoticon-0112-wonde
We wouldn't be nine (9) points shy of making a half-decent fist out of this grim season had they done so!

I think this is about the development of young players, Cromer, and throwing 19 year-olds in at the deep-end could be damaging to that. I very much want to see them involved more and more but in a way that suits their development. Had we scored another goal last night Maddison and Godfrey might have got their chance. Similarly, if we can push out to a lead over Blackburn, the chance could be there for them, without undue pressure that could be counter-productive.

See, this is what I don't get. He was a cult hero in the making at Coventry and they love him in Aberdeen.
So he's used to accolades and plaudits. No big deal.
Almost sounds as if you want AN to persevere with tired, lethargic old war-horses? <yikes>

And therein lies the problem with AN - someone needs to tell him to take a risk with our youff - they CAN'T do any worse than the 'golden oldies!!' <doh>

I don't get this development in the right way for young players thing. Any game time helps their development. As long as they are good enough, they are ready. We gave Ronaldo Vieira his first appearance in our first game of the season and we lost 3-0 to a poor QPR team but he has gone on to become quite a valuable player and will definitely be a mainstay in a prem team at the very least (hopefully us) in the future. As a club we often try to get as much youngsters into the team as possible, rather than try to protect them, shove them into the deep end and see how they react, its going to happen eventually and it gives a good impression to whether their mental attitude is right to be a professional sportsman.

Hi Josh, good to see you. You make some very valid points, as you say, if they're going to make the grade, they have to start sometime, the younger they are, the more chance they'll recover from an odd mistake or two and grow into it! <ok>
