But for today's absolute howler I would be sounding the bugle and commanding the wheelbarrows to the fore tomorrow for:

LOWER HOPE DANDY 7/4 Exeter 3:50

The Williams/Deutsch partnership is in irresistible form and I think this animal is a cut above these. Went into my notebook a few seasons back when the last got in the way in a Bangor handicap hurdle. Is long overdue compensation and that really should come tomorrow.

Oh dear, drifting like the proverbial barge!

I would have put the mortgage on LE FRANK turning for home, he was cruising. However, the legs turned to jelly inside the final 2f. He is a big framed horse and needs to strengthen up considerably. If he were mine I would put him away now and bring him back next season and go hurdling.
The winner was as green as any bumper horse I have seen this season. He will have learned a lot but was a very difficult ride. Cheekpieces on next time and he will improve. Could even win under a penalty.
Uluru needs time and is a long term project.
