I'm not sure why he thinks not putting in a transfer request is such a noble thing.

I just want to add that Jose repeatedly says he gave no "written" transfer request but never says he made no transfer request verbally. He seems set out for a career in politics...

Is in my opinion, him telling the club that he wants to leave, or in other words, a transfer request. From his own lips.
If he hadn't wanted to leave, the last part of that sentence would have read
"and I do NOT want the club to consider it."
Yep, don't know why he's complaining. His reception was okay, even though I though his air punching was a little over exuberant.

Facts are he can't move on,he wishes he had stayed,he knows he's made a big mistake.
He thought someone "big" was going to come in for him but never did so a move to WHU was his only option because the row had gone too far.

Best to remember the good times and the fact that quite a few fans considered him in his last season as a 1st team starter. I suspect it wasn't the money that bothered him, but the length of the contract. I can believe that we may have been dithering a bit. He's best to keep quiet now....most fans remember him fondly....best to keep it that way.
And even that's his fault. Fran would never have received that banning order if he hadn't raised a verbal* complaint with the police.
*note he still claims he didn't make that complaint because it wasn't in writing.

Yes, he's couched it in the vaguest terms possible, but he's still done it. Perhaps he's got a case about outside people saying he'd behaved poorly, but really, come on, Jose. This is football media rumour, speculation and reporting.
I'm confused. Fonte left months ago, why the interview? Nobody really cares now, left us a bit in the lurch but the club had plenty of time to get a replacement. They didn't, out fault. Ho hum, we march on.
I don't think Jose demanded the interview. It was just pre-match for their game against Chelsea tonight and Souness/Sky steered the questions that way.
Martin Caceres played for the u23s tonight and looked in good shape
