Our first defeat of the season was at Burnley (not sure though). We have to show them what we are capable of. Going for home win.
It was as we had to reschedule as stand wasn't ready, so had to play away even though fixture was a home game.

Start of season all teams are cold and anyone can literally beat anyone.

that gave us 80% possession. once they scored one they just got a second on the break late.

a pattersn that has repeated several times through season

we have not learned about 6/7 times that another body charging forward makes zero difference and just exposed the backline.

we have also not learned that developing a set piece attack might be useful in breaking **** teams down

we have also not learned that if sides sit deep firmino is absolutely ****.

we have also not told coutinho to stop hiding deep and stay wide and high.

we have also not learned how to run channels and get behind sides

In short the reason we are out of all comps is we've not learned one bloody thing all year. played great at ties but have not actually improved anything as we have gone on

Confidence seemed ok yesterday, and against Spurs.
That's not the issue, imo.

The players will know they perform better against the better sides so confidence won't be such an issue against these sides.

They lack confidence when it comes to breaking down stubborn defence.

I've said this so often now I'm boring myself. :) I don't think it's as simple as that.
I believe it's complacency, a lack of energy from the start, and not simply an inability to break down a defence. It's true we do need to learn how to penetrate a defensive set-up, but more important than that is attitude. Leicester, didn't shut up shop against us, but we started so slowly we couldn't get going until it was far too late.
This pattern has repeated throughout the season. We have to take the lower teams seriously and go at them like we mean it.

Top four finish our future is now in our own hands. We only need to get two more points than Arsenal and Manchester united from
now to the end of the season.

Is it?

I thought we had to rely on arsenal fecking up again. Ie game in hand but only 2 pts behind. City have 2 games in hand so didn't count them.

Counting on city making the top four.

Chelsea, Spurs, Man City top 4

We have a much higher performance ceiling than Arsenal and referees

Just depends on [HASHTAG]#consistency[/HASHTAG] now [HASHTAG]#whatcouldpossiblygowrong[/HASHTAG]
