We have 5 left backs in our squad:

Dan Harding, Ryan Dickson, Danny Fox, Joseph Mills, Ben Reeves...

Obviously Joseph Mills doesn't really have a future, having not being handed a squad number and having a trial at preston. NA said he wants to get a few youngsters through the system I was thinking that one of them might of been Reeves as he was on the subs bench a few times last year, but with the introduction of Fox and the reduction of subs I'm not sure and think he may be sent out on loan. Also not sure if Dickson will be happy being 3rd choice as it seems it will be Harding and Fox fighting it out.

If we really get desperate we can put seaborne there, but I doubt he will feature much this season.

Does anyone know if Fox can play left mid at all?

P.s Luke shaw got called up to the england under 17's squad so he may feature this season, you never know.

P.P.s Danny is also on twitter if you guys didnt know, its @Danny_Fox3

Fox can play LM, Mills is likely to leave if only on loan so that leaves 4

Dickson might leave, leaving 3 including a youngster - we definetely need to move 2 senior LBs on IMO, we need 2 seniors and a youngster (reeves) on the fringes

I'm a bit surprised to be honest with the signing, I would have thought the priority would have been CB and then striker, not left back. Good signing none the less.

I think Fox was bought with the future in mind as well. The team is progressing and we can't stand still with a League 1/Championship side...we now need a Championship/Prem side. Also remember Fox is cup-tied so at least for 1 game, someone else gets a chance. Adkins talked about the mid-field raising it's game since Cork arrived, so may happen again with the defence and Fox. Also remember we've never seen this guy play for us yet!

Second point (and I am prepared to be shot down in flames). Is it impossible for one of the LB to change to a CB at this stage in their career (duck, incoming fire!).

Joseph Mills looks like he's out of favour (no squad number) and Ben Reeves is only young, so I think you can put them out of the equation. In terms of the other 3 left backs, I'm sure Adkins has challenged them that if they perform better than the other 2, they will play. If they aren't happy with that, then one of them may be off.

Yeah I was a little surprised by this signing as well but as someone else has said it is a decent signing for us! I feel that evolution is right with Dickson moving up to lm, he has the pace and control for it and he played there against orient away last year looked really good and comfortable on the ball, but should injurys occur still able to be a lb. Certainly feel that we should get rid of mills, doesn't seem like he has a future with us. And the pecking order for me would then be: Fox, Harding, Dickson, Reeves?

I think Mills is nailed onto leave - if not during this transfer window, then during the loan window over the Autumn.

Dickson is in the fortunate position of being able to play LM. Considering that we're now a winger down with the loss of Chamberlain, and also the reduction to five-man benches reduces the options for a manager, this should play into Dickson's favour. Even more so if (or should that be "when") Holmes gets injured during the season. So I really can't see Dickson leaving. (Compared to Harding, Dickson also very much has age on his side - Dickson will be 25 in December, Harding will be 28 in December).

This is a very good point Brendy.. I can see what adkins is doing here, Making every single player fight for their spot in the 11!! as you can see, most of the team of 11 players have competition from player who can play in the same league with ease.. This is the stuff that GOOD managers love on match day.. Struggling to decide to put out and play!!

Everyone except Lallana and Lambert anyway!
