Can't see him getting on the pitch.
He may get a taste of a call up but no where near front of any queue

Even if he just made the squad that'd be a bloody big deal for us. Miserable sod.

Personally I've never understood the fascination with this - **** England, I want our players rested and injury free.

Could see them along with Keane making a basis of England's centre back pairings in the future. I think all of them are better than Smalling.

He's quality. An England call up whilst he's with us would be terrific reward for his excellent performances. It would also push his price up if we are to lose him this summer.

In todays absolutely mental market, is it reasonable to price at £30m? I think so.

So 16 months. If we're serious about keeping him we should be offering him a new contract now but of course we can't because
of the financial uncertainty of relegation.

We could, If we went down we could loan him out for a season if we were serious about coming straight back up, if we didnt get that promotion we could flog him. ****wit 1 and 2 would more than likely put a £2m release clause in there though.

If we loaned him out next season, he wouldn't be ours at the end of the season and we couldn't flog him at all. <doh>

He would be ours if we offered him a new long term contract which was what I was answering to.

Fair enough, though we should be offering him a new deal regardless of where we're going to be next season, or we risk losing him on the cheap.

Didn't someone on here say he had been offered a new contract?

According to The Sun and The Star, he rejected a new deal in January.

Probably just because he's a greedy ****, but you'd have to check that with Chazz.

More likely Ehab offered a new contract on the same terms he's on currently

Any one of Mee, Maguire or Keane transferred to a Sky 6 team and they'd be a shoe in for the squad.
