So everyone except the rioters themselves were responsible for the events. I watched Question Time as well and was astounded at the panels responses.

To me it was symptomatic of everything that is wrong with this counttries attitude. Certain sections of society are allowed to have no responsibilities for their actions.

Anarchy.

That's why I don't watch programmes like Question Time. They just make you angry and cynical.

Too many people on the show with self-interests.

Too many wishy washy liberal minded hypocritical politically correct do gooders who are afraid to tell it like it is. Afraid of upsetting certain stratas of society.

The reason why this country is failing its honest people miserably.

Some of the comments were unreal. Prescott banging on about how the tories had no idea of state education as none of them had ever been to state schools and they'd destroyed it anyway was bad enough but the real icing on the cake was the woman who said that living in council accommodation was not a privilege. How else would you describe the state giving you a place to live then? <doh> Granted they may not be palaces but if someone's putting a roof over your head I don't think it pays any harm to show a little gratitude.

The one about riots only happening under the tories was another pearler - have you ever heard a more opportunistic attempt at trying to win over the electorate? <laugh>

So it seems what these kids need is investment in education, youth services, better social housing, etc etc etc

Why not just give each rioter one million quid each, that should put the problem to bed :)

...but seriousy it`s all becoming very predictable, public outrage at the time of the disorder followed by months and months of hot air and bullshit eventually turning everything around so the poor little trouble makers are seen as the victims.

All back to square one just in time for next summer <ok>

That really pissed me off too. What did she say? Something like "council houses aren't a privilege, have you ever been in one?" <doh>

A ****ing mud hut would still be a privilege if you're not able to pay your own way, you ungrateful ****ing leech.

Jip - I see that hazel Blears, the member of Parliament for Salford, was on Sky News yesterday asking why the children involved were not in school. You really do have to wonder how some of these people manage to survive the day without killing themsleves through their own stupidity <doh>

Even if it was term time, they'd still not be in school anyway. The parents don't give a ****, as long as they can smoke their weed in peace.

You do realise that a lot of people who live in council houses work and pay rent and council tax?

Absolutely - but if they cannot afford to pay privately then surely it is a "privilege"? What would they do if this option was not available?

What a load of ****e. The council own property which they rent out. How the **** is it a privelige if you're paying for it?

There are some right condescending ****s on this place. <doh>

It also amazes me how upright and moral a lot of people on here are. I've seen threads on here where people have boasted about their criminal behaviour, from ABH to thieving, yet the very same ****s are on here taking the moral high ground about these so called rioters and looters.

Utter ****ing hypocrisy.

You are the one constantly taking the moral high ground. And constantly contradicting yourself. In fact you would have fitted on the panel perfectly.

once again your faux outrage misses the point entirely. If you were unemployed and could not afford a mortgage or private let you would live in a council house, the rent for which would be paid by the Government. This is a privalege as the other option would be to live under a bridge <ok>

No offence ST, but I reckon that I know/know of more people in council housing than you do. And yes, I know that a lot of them have to make a contribution. But a lot of them also pay next to nothing or indeed nothing. And yet these are the ones that tend to be less grateful, the ones who think the world owes them something, like the Salfordian scumbags on the news the other night.

Question time can be good if you get a good panel or a good audience but this one had neither. The left are"nt doing themselves any favours trotting out social worker platitudes for what was in essence actions of a criminal lumpen proletariat. However as a leftwinger myself Im delighted that the right will get it in the ballot box for this.Boris next year and the con-dems at the next general election. As one wag pointed out one thing the tories always do well is a good riot!:police:

Some of you people haven't got a ****ing clue. SOME of them live in council housing. A lot of them live in privately rented property which actually costs tax payers more.

There are about FOUR MILLION people out of work in this country. That's a ****ing gisgrace. But do you really think most of these people live in council property?

You're 23 years old. You sound like Tory Boy from the Harry Enfield show. Grow up and stop gibbering pish.
