The past three seasons it gets to this stage where i end up just disliking the majority of the players and can't wait for the season to end just to see them gone. Albeit Lallana signed a new contract :( what a performance to justify that pay increase ay!?

Klopp brought our players to a level at the start in which they simply cannot keep up because there not good enough. We have Milner as LB, Lucas as CB (Gomez should really be starting ahead of him though), Can who clearly is not up to it as a holding midfielder in a top league playing CDM. Lallana who should be a bench player at best and Firmino upfront who works hard but is not a striker.

Origi looked better coming on this match though, thats a positive i guess.

I mean, look at our bench, no top four team would ever have that bench. Three youngsters, Moreno, Stewart and a keeper, just isn't good enough.

Mane was terrible last night, it was if he got that tackle early on against Vardy and just didn't fancy it whatsoever.

But the faith in Klopp has to stay with the fans. The players aren't good enough and we knew it would take a while for us to get at the level Klopp wants us to. Klopp said throughout the start of the season that it was laughable to consider us contenders and he clearly knew the truth.

We need to call back Sakho and Markovic asap.

The team definitely needs more pace. Pressing and counter attacks are all a bit crap with no pace.

Obviously, the players cannot say that they are tired, no Europe, no cup competition. And they just came back from holiday.

You were absolute garbage, Lucas at CB and playing a high line? Really?

Easy to blame the players, but tactically that was a shambles from Klopp.

    can't argue with that.
he has to change the formation to suit the players available rather than just hope the oppo won't exploit the obvious weaknesses in the team. The moment we saw the line up i think most of us had more than a suspicion of what was to follow.
What i cannot understand is if we can all see that Lucas as LCB with Milner as LB is a recipe for disaster against a counter attacking team like Leicester.

Mind you Ranieri must be wondering where that fight has been for most of this season.

Moreno came in and did well, so also Origi. I wonder why Origi has not started.

I see guys going into #melt over this and thats not intended to be an insult to anyone. I must be about 2 months ahead of everyone here cos I have been saying what I've felt and have said

    a) staring down the barrel of 6th
    b) can't wait for season to be over.

Therefore I am not exactly shocked here and stand by my 69 point prediction.

There are three things we must see and address

    a) Tobes is right. That was a tactical shambles from klopp. It was patently obvious form about 5 mins in that lucas coudln't cope and that every throw in and set play was a chance for them as matip wasn't fronting up to huth at all. there were several warnings on lucas inability to get in any sort of position to defend v vardy before the goal. Klopp and his assistant need a very long hard look in the mirror here

    b) call it bottle, physicality, character whatever, the side is bereft of power, height and the ability to fight your gorund and put your foot in. Theres no way IMO to change this with the current players.

    c) talent. Its quite clear we are well short of it in many areas. We won't win anyhting next year either, this is the reality. sorry but theres too much to do to improve on this in one summer.

IMO LFC could do with a GK, CB, LB, CM, CM, ST... and that assumes clyne, matip, lallana, coutinho and mane stay and are first picks (as in are actually good enough)

It says it all klopp had to put milner in at rw/RCM to put a bit of fight i nthe midfield IMO.

    Not really.
You're wrong as often as you're right (like most of us) - you just have a highly selective memory about it.

    (Like most of us). :)

This team has all the issues you mention and more. I was left thinking, not for the first time, that none of them want to or know how to tackle! As for Milner, he is a midfielder by trade so I'd have thought he could have played there from the start. He's not a Left Back. The world and his wife know that.

In regards to A, Klopp said afterwards he told the players to not play a high line so whether there not following orders or he's not telling the truth is anyone guess.

no there were no yellow cards and i'll be honest the wife was laughing at me as i shouted man and ball at clyne in the corner just prior to basically him and lallana conspiriing to standing off leicester to allow a free cross to verdy for the third.

when you are 2-0 down I expect players to get physical (not like spurs) but to get stuck in.

IMO it was pathetic really. If players wer eon yellows and couldn't tackle fine but oliver is a cowardly ref. you can get away with murder with him just pushing lads over etc

IMO we were so afraid of set piece we were willing to let them walk in.

It's OK. We'll just wait for Chelsea to sack Conte and we'll have him. Then we will still fail because it's just the way the club has been for years, always wanting that one midfielder we never replaced, always wanting that defender or GK or another Suarez. Then we'd want a manager like Klopp back.

Seriously though, it would be a horrible crying shame to lose Klopp. I'd rather fail with someone like him as manager. Yes, questions can be asked, but it's so much more than just the manager. <ok>

They always do the same thing. the minute i saw can on the list i was sure he'd just go wandering. we were wide open on a 2 v 2 on every long ball.

All that was needed was can to sit i nthe pocket... and kick lads. but IMO After 20mins i'd have rolled subs. It wasn't just poor old lucas. not one of them would get the ball down and invite a kick of this bunch of chumps and play it on the ground. matip, lucas, milner.. all lumped it at firmino. he never won a thing.

pretty much every aspect of the game was wrong in possession and out of possession. Thats why klopp said what he said IMO. I suspect many chances will be made now but he's made a stick for his own back by not buying cos frankly... he's out of options. Leciester had more options last night off the bench that we did

As of now the only switches he has available are:

1 tell firmino to do one and **** him out of the side and play origi (who's not much better but at least willing to make a point last night)

    2. Move milner to CM and play moreno LB.

    3. Hope lovren is fit.

    4. hope henderson is fit

He literally has nothing else he can do............. nothing.

we need to stop making do. simple as.

If we can pay lallana 100k after 6 months of good play and coutinh0 180k we can certinly pay a going wage for a decent striker. We need to stop making do in many respects but we show zero signs of it.

Our new CEO <laugh> wow... about as far removed form a winning sporting man as LFC could have got.

I agree with all of that. There was a change in the second half where Can was basically asked to help Lucas and cover Vardy wherever he went. Its unfortunate that Can can't do the basically levels required to play football and couldn't defend a header.

What about Lallana turning his back around on the cross leading up to it?! Embarrassing stuff.

But yeah, we have nothing off the bench and unless our injured players come back we will continue to having nothing.

i'd rather see Can as one of 3 CB's than DM where he just goes missing .

in fairness to Can in that occasion as klopp said the last mitake looks worst but clyne and lallana refused to tackle twice i nthat area allowing handy little pass and cross.

they might as well have corss it for him themselves.

Thanks for the false positive guys, we'll probably lose to Hull on saturday now.

Thats likely come from the media and other fans pointing fingers at them and calling them all the names under the sun to be fair, not because Ranieri has gone. Its exactly the same performance we put in when we smashed Man City for playing a high line too.
