Why just De Gea?

Does the rule state goalkeeper or opponent?

Again, from the pic, where the cross is just about to come in, it looks to me like Valencia has pretty much zero chance of getting to either Bertrand or Gabbiardini in time, in which case he's not involved in the play.

Valencia is running in at full speed, he was moving towards Bertrand, he may have got to Gabbiardini or at least put him off

Your pic suggests neither. Valencia is focused on the fullback about to cross the ball. The distance in the pic suggests he had no chance of reaching either player in time.

Boxing is **** nowadays... Kind of picked up but thanks to the Internet, social media etc we can find Gobshites at 10 to a penny...its not real enough for me...the characters are fake....no real charisma....no genuine sympathy for their upbringing, Robots and boring farts to boot.

Sonny Liston, Sugar Ray Robinson all the way up to the Tyson/Hagler era....the Eubank/Benn era....then it went **** and has remained so for me.

I'm hard pushed to find it interesting nowadays.....heavyweight Champions of the world rolling around in Batman gear.

Let's be honest Joshua hasn't fought no one and catches Klitschko on his way home from his Hydrotherapy swimming classes for his bad hips. If anyone is testing Joshua its Haye and that sums it up...5 years ago Klitschko would have schooled the puppy that is Joshua. Mayweather is boring like **** and he got the PAC man on his last legs.

Mayweather v McGregor....that's boxing? That's desperation from all concerned.

Tyson at his peak would chew up and **** Joshua out then use him as fertiliser. Yet this guy is on a par with 'the baddest motherfucker' in this world? **** naw....but I like Joshua as a person...I can't put some of the current Champs on a pedestal though.
I fought Mohammed Ali and had him scared to death in the first round .......... He Thought He Killed Me !! . Agree totally with your post by the way , Sonny was talking when he should have been Liston.

Spoken like a true sky fanboy <doh>

No matter how gutted I am right now mate, at least I'm not a thick, old racist who lives in the ****ing Midlands <ok>
Nothing to be ashamed of guy , Southampton showed everyone that they deserved to be in the final and did enough to possibly go to extra time at least . It's just the way she goes at times so just be proud of your team .... they deserve it from top to bottom , on and off the pitch ..cheers

Don't get me wrong mate, I'm so ****ing proud, of both our support which was fantastic, and the team who performed brilliantly and showed great character after going 2 down.

But I can't help but feel gutted, and in a way this was my worst fear. Can already see the headlines tomorrow about 'brave Southampton' with a 'galling effort' <doh>

Story of our club I suppose <laugh> ****ing horrendous feeling though<wah>

Sounds weird but one thing that broke my heart probably more than the result was going to pisser afterwards and seeing a lad of around 5 crying his eyes... bless his little heart!

I'll probably be able to think more rationally in the morning, but currently I'm so ****ing devastated I'm struggling to sum up my feelings.

On the plus side, I've just got on the train to go home, and I have no work tommorrow :)

Get over what? How is people discussing a ****ing awful decision in a cup final being ABU?

One day you might actually visit OT, or watch a live game somewhere.....then again probably not, as you're a plassie glory hunter from the Midlands.
Going to OT? It'll never happen, as with most glory hunters on this forum.

There's no argument that the 'goal scorer' was onside. Did Bertrand distract De Gea, who I would assume the lino was looking at?

I'd say had Bertrand been in front of Gabbiardini, then yes, he's interning; but he wasn't, he was beyond him...

You missed what I said about Valencia. Go back to your quote about the definition of interfering with play and the bit I underlined. Valencia definitely was affected by his movement.

After reading almost three pages of total bollocks about the offside rule and the implementation of it the referee, linesman, Tobes, Blueman have all called it correctly.
*Interesting to note the only people in disagreement were a few plastics and a couple of spuds. Good job they don't often talk about football eh.

I don't think that makes any difference, even it that was the case. In my view, from what I can see in that pic, there's no way Valencia is getting to either Bertrand or Gabbiardini before the ball arrives. So, distracted or not - and in the pic he's looking at the full back about to cross the ball - he's not in a position to affect the play.

You're looking at a picture and referencing that picture.
How can you possibly know what was happening real time?
