I'd be interested to know what the Leicester fans actually think. If they'd try and justify this decision they are perhaps the most ungrateful, narcissistic fans in football.

Crazy to think the reigning champions could be bottom come the time they play on Monday! Not surprised regardless of success last year relegation is a tough pill to swallow! The coming weeks will show if it was the right decision. Terrible recruitment in the summer has cost them. Still see Leicester, Sunderland and the Boro going down!

Disgusting, he achieved something that no Leicester fan ever even dreamed of, he cause one of the biggest upsets in the history of sport and now they've turned on him because they're performing at the level they should have been all along.

He's a victim of his own success and everyone at Leicester should be ****ing ashamed that they've decided to treat him this way.

Excellent post.

Another nail in the coffin of football as I knew it.

****ing disgraceful.

Clearly the owners didn't think that CR was going to keep them in the prem, Therefore he had to go...Too much money to be lost if they go down...

As someone said on twitter
Nigel Pearson has left his tent in the forest, and is en route to Leicester.

The image I got in my head was big Nige, living like a caveman hunting squirrels, and howling like a werewolf

Nige seems to be the only available candidate with the right relegation battle experience, but Claudio was a left-field appointment at the time, so I expect another unlikely candidate like Sven-Goran Eriksson.

He also got em to last 16 of the champions league

Not only did they win the league they also are competing well in the champions league, the pinnacle of european football. Away goal v sevilla.. too

He survived a savage pack of Romanian wild dogs; he survived a nailed on drop to the Championship; he survived the banal musings of post-match interviewers; he remains a charisma-free zone; I give you the Third Coming of Nigel. I once was fortunate enough to have had a deep and meaningful conversation with the great man - I remember it word for word like it was just yesterday. ME: "Hello Mr Pearson." NIGEL: "Get out of my way."
