Southampton were linked with a £4m move for both Fox and Rodriguez at the weekend, but Rodriguez is likely to prove somewhat more difficult to prise away. However, the Saints are believed to have turned their attentions elsewhere and were reportedly closing in on a £3.5m move for Wolves striker Sylvan Ebanks-Blake. http://www.burnleyexpress.net/sport...ey_fc_sell_danny_fox_to_southampton_1_3670945 Did anyone else see this today. I personally think if true would be a quality piece of business and would offer our frontline a brilliant other option. Been saying to my brother for ages we should go for him this window so if it comes off would be delighted because he has a good goalscoring record especially in the championship. Probably just speculation but what does everyone else think about ebanks-blake as a player and also whether you think he would be a good signing for the saints
I'd rather not, he had a great 08-09 season but hasn't done much since then, theres no way hes worth that much either.
I wouldn't be upset if we were to sign him, but would be happier with a Maynard/Jay Rod type player. I suppose he is a bit of a beast who isn't slow and can score goals, maybe a poor man's Yakubu or is that being harsh?
No, lets go for young hungry lads who will bust their sides to make a success of playing for Saints not a Wolves reject
How would you feel about Sam Vokes then, on one hand young (21 I think) should be hungry and I believe he is a Saints fan(?) on the other he could be classified as a Wolves Reject!
I went on the Wolves website and he actually scored seven goals for Wolves last season which is decent especially considering he didn't start too many games last year. Nevertheless, I'd rather sign Maynard.
I don't understand why people are so dismissive of SEB? Has Championship experience and has scored 58 goals in 125 games (Bearing in mind that at least 20 of those games were sub appearences). He has Prem experience and whilst not prolific, he has shown he can hit the back of the net. He is the right age at 25 and,if we believe the rumours, is going to be cheaper than Maynard and Rodriguez but a fair bit. TBH I will be happy if we signed either of the three, I just don't understand people saying that they don't want SEB, when he clearly fits the bill for what we need
