Rather than starting a new thread , brilliant what Huddersfield are doing under Wagner!! They scored in the 92 minute tonight I wonder whether he sprinted on the pitch again. They were losing 2-1 too!!

6 straight wins too. Bournemouth's promotion a couple of years ago will surely give them hope. Anybody else love it if they went up at the expense of Leeds and The Wendies?

Colin W doing well at Cardiff, helped by Greegsy no doubt. I'm no fan but have to admit that he's still a pretty effective manager at that level.

Watched by their lowest league home crowd of the season, Villa are still seven points clear of relegation danger despite a defeat that was inflicted by two strikers who were last season scoring their goals for League One clubs, Armstrong for Coventry City and Bradshaw for Walsall.

...

Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce:

"The reason why we've got one of the biggest wage bills in the Championship is we've got to deal with that mentality and expectation. That's why they get paid more than anyone else in this division.

"I'm convinced they are made of the right stuff and can get better, and it's my responsibility to make them better.

"There's been big change at the club for too long. It's tough to come in here (the press conference), tough to do the television but that's what it is.

"It's the best and biggest club I've had in 20 years in management and arguably the toughest one to turn around. Given time, I know for a fact I'll do it."

Villa are just seven points above the Sky Bet Championship relegation zone after they extended their winless run to nine games in all competitions following a 3-1 defeat to Barnsley on Tuesday.
Tom Bradshaw's fine double and Adam Armstrong's first-half penalty won the game for the rugged Tykes, who are just six points behind the play-offs.
In contrast Villa, who have spent over B£60million this season as they aimed for an immediate return to the Premier League, are 19 points adrift of the top six.
Bruce said: "The reason why we've got one of the biggest wage bills in the Championship is we've got to deal with that mentality and expectation. That's why they get paid more than anyone else in this division.
"I'm convinced they are made of the right stuff and can get better, and it's my responsibility to make them better.
"There's been big change at the club for too long. It's tough to come in here (the press conference), tough to do the television but that's what it is. But it's now time you show your balls.
"It's the best and biggest club I've had in 20 years in management and arguably the toughest one to turn around. Given time I know for a fact I'll do it.
"It's difficult but that's when you show your mettle, roll your sleeves up, batten down the hatches and get ready to try and ride the storm - because there will be.
"Every man and his dog will have their say but I'm determined. I know what's required in this division, I've been around it long enough."
When asked if he was concerned about being dragged into a relegation scrap, Bruce said: "I don't fear that but you can't dismiss it."

Brucies totally lost the plot - apparently its all to do with the players high wages, Brucies answer is to show the press his balls

Don't they just have a hopelessly **** squad?

We never suffered like this in the Championship under Bruce, so I point the finger at a **** set of players.

Bruce's inability to express any system of emotional substance of thinking before speaking Is strangely reminiscent of Escabs' Eye to hand coordination in crayon drawing & Press release statements . Maybe He rubbed off on Him.

yes we did - their fans are complaining about **** negative football, strikers who are stood by themselves and can't score, trying 442 then 352 then 442 - he got rid of some of their better players and spunked more money replacing them, apparently its one of those horrible afternoons, the roofs caved in, negative after match press conferences saying he's in a relegation fight but he's the man to do it, given time and something about getting fisted and that should sort it out - sounds familiar -

I posted this on the Villa board in October - except for the Junior bit - all correct including McCormack farmed out and Gestede being sold - the guys a twat

prepare yourselves for **** negative football - he'll get rid of your strikers because he doesn't use them, Junior will be at the centre of your defence and anyone who disagrees will either be farmed out or put on the naughty step - good riddance - you deserve better
