An unhappy player is not going to put his heart into playing for you, is going to unsettle the dressing room, etc...

Point is, you don't always have to sell immediately and forcing a player to stay (even if it is only one season) can turn out to be a great move. Didn't you guess do it with Fabregas, Henry and Viera?

We did with Fabregas, Henry decided to stay on his own accord, and Vieira was sold because he was past his best. But I do agree with the general sentiment

As Zanj says, there are times where a firm hand from the club can get the player back onside, but I'd have to agree in the most part, when a player's heart isn't in it anymore, then you're fighting a losing battle.
