Aw come on Nass, she gave him 1 gentle slap with the whip ............................ even I would have tried for that <laugh>

Do you think she thought there was a few furlongs left? I mean, it's not as if it was an inexperienced jockey, it was Ms Brotherton.

I watched it back a couple of times mate and yes, you got the feeling she was encouraging the horse to close rather than riding a finish .................... perhaps she did misjudge where the post was. I was going to say, you'd be annoyed if you'd backed it, but then I thought it serves you right for betting in such a ****e race <laugh>

I'm not telling you which horse I backed in that :)

No, it was an exercise canter so you absolutely can't judge anything from that. No pressure on him at any stage in the race. I guess he will be RSA bound? Won't be lumbering him with my hard-earned.

The way he skipped clear at Kempton made me think about him going from the front in a JLT at Cheltenham.

RSA has often been a tough old race!

Maybe if the race cuts up and the ground is goodish ...............

How you feeling about the festival pal? Making my first trip this year. Can't say I strongly fancy anything like most years.

Probably a ****ing good thing given how wrong I usually am <laugh>

Iv normally got a nailed on fancy in the Supreme and this year I'm scratching my head.

I backed Crack Mome and Invitation Only in a double for Supreme and Neptune but they're both double the prices now <laugh>

Strangely lacking any sort of excitement or anticipation this year Toppy. I am even considering going to work <yikes>

It just doesn't seem that important to me this year, probably applies to racing in general rather than just the festival. Can't say why, maybe all the injured horses and sad losses? Or maybe the generally poor quality small fields for the better races (see that graduation chase at Kempton Friday). The exciting races seem to be getting fewer and fewer, with too much standard fare. Too many trainers afraid to run their good horses.

Are you going this year odddy?

What if someone had a spare for Gold Cup Day, hospitality included..............

That would, of course, put things in a different light ;).......... I'm sure I could scratch together a few air miles :)

PM me if you would be so kind <ok>
