Referee Chelsea supporter. Two mistakes in one game.:emoticon-0133-wait::emoticon-0133-wait::emoticon-0136-giggl.

I still think the most comical act of incompetence of the evening was the lino getting that Milner offside thing wrong. Shades of the beachball goal there, not in the consequences, of course, but in the sheer incredulity of having a paid official making a mistake like that in a Premier League game, when a dad running the line in an under 12's match would be embarrassed to do that. And I swear that had he done that to Chelsea I'd still be banging on about it.

And what did Calamityberk do? He booked the captain for protesting. :emoticon-0145-shake

Wrong.

He marked out the wall and then blew his whistle. Mignolet just didn't react and was still urging his back line to move out as he took the kick.

He didn't mark out the wall mate. He did blow his whistle though.

He'd have not saved it anyway, but it makes it amusing :)

My general points on last night...

First half we were clearly very low on confidence. We looked a bit desperate at times, trying too hard with players going for long balls not on and multiples players racing in and chasing singular Chelsea players as opposed to one man standing up the person on the ball and our other defenders holding position. This created space for Chelsea's wide men.

I thought we were devoid of ideas and just didn't look like we had a solution to teams sitting deep and letting us tap passes sideways and eventually crossing to a single short forward which was very easy to defend.

Chelsea set up very well and our tight passing - although not bad at times, usually led to nothing bar the excellent touch from Lallana which led to Firmino blazing over.

Matip had an absolute shocker. 3 times in that game - twice in the first half, he cleared to Chelsea forwards.

Mignolet had a shocker for the goal not doing the basics and listening for the whistle. As soon as it went he should have got ready in goal instantly.

However, their quality goal (which came from cheating), I thought we did well. We didn't panic and showed we were up for a fight. I was worried heads might drop but they didn't.

Second half we were much better. It wasn't perfect, passes were still played behind each other, there were still defensive howlers, but Migs saved well and we made a few good chances ourselves and pressed Chelsea well.

Henderson I thought was really good second half. He bossed well, crossed to Milners to head across for the goal and had that cruscial interception.

Mane came on and was immediately more direct which will help create space for Lallana, Couts (non existant) and Firmino.

Obviously want a win but pleased with the point and to stop the rot and the media circus.

We showed we were up for the fight which gives me hope moving forward.

We did as well as can be expected.

What's worrying for the future is that Chelsea showed all other teams the blue print for playing against us at Anfield. This team is not Plymouth or Swansea or Southampton. They are currently the best team in the league Yet they were not shy in defending in depth and let us have the ball for long periods and hitting us with fast counters.

We can now expect every team to do exactly the same. Unless we start to vary our game I can see many draws at home.

I take it you missed how we demonstrated how to destroy them with balls to far stick ..

Or how all they did was dive

I am not saying that we didn't deserve at least a draw. They got the result they wanted by copying the lower ranked teams. Man United got the draw by playing defensive but Man City got beat by playing a more open game. We beat Arsenal and Spurs earlier in the season. Again they played a more open game. But surely they'll come to defend here.

The cross balls from left to right were effective and we should have done them much earlier. That could be solution against these massed defences

I wonder if refs like or dislike klopp.... I'd say 80/90% of them have been on the end of his unique approach as 4th officials now.

So reaming nobody can beat us in the 4th officials face would seem rather odd

Yeah that is true.

However I would say their chances came mainly from our defensive mistakes.

If we had a proper defence then the opposition would be restricted on chances and crucially goals and we could concentrate on getting that goal or two without worrying too much on the response.

I would expect us then to get a goal which would force the opposition out and create more space for us.

The problem is teams know that if they bide their time we will gift them a few chances.

If that wasn't an option then they would be more likely to take a chance - if not it will be at least a point for us.

I've said all season we're a striker short.

A quality one with great movement, pace, skill and is direct would be great. Like Brazilian Ronaldo <ok>

The defence being ****e is also putting pressure on our midfield and forwards players.
