Wouldn't be surprised if this happens. His Dad & Brother have regularly bad mouthed the club on twitter and Jay Rod has had the odd cryptic dig at Puel in his after match interviews. Also Adam Blackmore has tweeted that he wouldn't be surprised as he believes he wants to leave?
Also with the 4-3-3, once all fit we'd have Gabbiadini / Redmond / Long/ Austin / Tadic / Boufal / Sims and Jay Rod.
But we should look at getting more than £10 million for him, to give us more money to strengthen in the summer.
As someone has just posted (above) his father has stated Jay is very happy.

That is very true. So true in fact that I believe it could, quite possibly, entirely invalidate my point!

To be honest, I go back and forth on it, as well. It could also lead to teams being outrageously impulsive every time their form dips, or any number of other irrational behaviours to which football teams seem to gravitate.

Worth noting: if one looks at other professional sports that have a trading deadline but no windows, a de facto window system tends to come into being. Trades are made in the offseason, followed by a lull where (generally speaking) only small moves occur, and a frenzy takes hold with a few weeks prior to the deadline, which is usually ~60% of the way through the season. So it could be that it would look almost exactly like the situation we now face, only with a few smatterings of activity through October - December.

WBA still said to be interested in Jay, but I doubt we'd part with him even with the arrival of Gabbiadini. Firstly, because Manola is untested in the EPL and, secondly, we'd be back to two strikers again with Austin a long term injury.
