I'm guessing we didn't want to pay him 40k a week when he was sat on his arse for a year. But we signed a contract, so...
Players get injured, they get paid ..... nothing special about that: he came back and helped get us promoted, his goals and assists have kept us in touch with those just above us.
I would imagine unless he gets a move to West Ham or a top 10 club there's always a chance he's going to have that in his contract. I'm sure he'd scrape by on 20k a week though
Agreed. It's a safe a bet that he'd be looking for a club who are relatively safe from relegation .... otherwise his negotiations would become trickier.
I didn't suggest there was anything special about it. My point - which I thought I'd made clearly - was that we had to stand by a contract that we signed when it didn't suit us so it stands to reason that a player should do the very same.
In any other walk of life .... this is football, what do you expect? Hint .... the answers NOT loyalty.
My point, from the off was that if we intended to sell Livermore we should have got the other faces in first. Mason's injury proves me right. If we needed to sell before loaning the unfit & not match ready replacements then maybe we are the selling club Ehab denies we are.
How simple would that have been? What's wrong with us making teams wait until later in the window for once?
A bit like Everton fans did with Niasse? Liverpool are much better than us, it's not a marker if he isn't good enough. Most of our squad isn't good enough for Liverpool.
Sporting fans say he's **** as well. Apparently, his career has gone way downhill since leaving Benfica.
Again, much better clubs than ours. If we were signing first team players from these clubs we'd be higher in the league.
I don't get your point. The fact he was **** for Liverpool is irrelevant, the fact he was **** in the Premier League is the issue. If he can't cut it in the Premier League for Liverpool, he likely won't cut it in the Premier League for Hull City. The only thing that has changed is which club he plays for; the Premier League is still the same.
Presumably he won't be allowed to play against them? Shame because it could have set up a humorous moment when he whipped a cross in for our winner !
