Only if you ignore how the game progressed. We only started playing once they scored. I doubt we'd have scored if they hadn't

True, but it doesn't change the fact we are capable of scoring goals, as shown again today.

We are not capable of defending! Thank **** Matips back

What was your game like today Diego? Was you unlucky to be trailing?

Assuming given the time of the goal it feels like a half positive result?
Up to half time they hadn't had a shot at goal so yeah, we were a bit unlucky to be trailing. The game itself was a lot like many we have had this season, lots of missed/wasted chances by us but also looked vulnerable on the odd time they attacked, at the moment I feel we will concede every time someone gets near our area, luckily that doesn't happen but we never look safe somehow.
First half was slow and I must confess I was wandering round doing stuff like brewing up because I didn't think I would miss much.
Second half had a bit more about it and kept me watching attentively :emoticon-0100-smile

It certainly doesn't feel like a positive result, other results today and the fact we should have scored 3 but for shocking finishing makes it feel more like a loss than anything else.

Well in last 10 or so games I think we've kept about 4 clean sheets and only conceded about 4/5 goals but haven't been scoring many.

At the moment, we can't get the balance. If we try and be solid then we look toothless up top (first half) but if we throw everyone forward we score goals but look vulnerable to counter (like 2nd half). Haven't worked out how to score plenty while conceding not many yet

LFC have lost their shape and system.

we were far far too narrow again today and have been for weeks.

coutinho has been dropped deeper, he's too deep.

lallna has been shifted forward, he's wasted there

Can has played and he is just holding the ball and not seeing passes

in short..... they've lost their belief a bit. simple as.

Can thinks he's Iniesta, really pissing me off this player is.

Why the **** does he try all the silky **** when he's an old dog?

He's a very good player who's going through poor run of form. Not only that, he's playing a different role in an imbalanced midfield. And to be fair - out of him, Gini and Hendo, Can is the one who takes more risks and tries to pass through lines.

Personally, I think he should be playing at the base because defensively, he's the best midfielder.

I hope we buy a real play making midfielder - Paredes of Roma is perfect.

Not sure he's going through a bad patch of form, if so can you remind me of when he was on form?

He's simply not suited to a high energy pressing game. Far too slow and clumsy.

Speaking of the devil

Juventus are interested in signing Liverpoolmidfielder Emre Can, according to reports in Corriere dello Sport.

The Serie A champions are believed to have been scouting the German international over the past few weeks.

Can needs to be dropped for the Soton game, so Lallana can go back into midfield, and being Sturridge or origi on to play up front with Couts and Firm

Exactly.

If Can goes I wouldn't lose any sleep. We would need a replacement 5th choice CM though!

He waa bossing midfields last season - not only defensively, but he was contributing on the ball.

This season, he's been awful on the ball but still brilliant defensively. He won't get goals and assists because it's not his natural game.

He is slow on the ball - but IMO, that's just as bad as someone like Hendo who plays quicker but only back the defenders or full backs.b

In general, the balance of the midfield is completely off. All 3 are the same.

Can't remember ANY games that he bossed the midfield tbh. He may have played well for a few games, but nope still can't remember.

He's a fairly decent player, but just looks odd in a Klopp team. Hendo is far better in every department imo.

I suppose the things that he's good at it go unnoticed - off the ball and defensively, he's unrivalled in our team.

I like Hendo - he's a tidy squad player but just can't see what he adds. Defensively, he's not great and is Cowardly on the ball. In his defence, he tried to be more adventurous yesterday but he gave it away. I want him to try that more often. Take more risks.

But ultimately, Klopp needs to bring in a new CM - a creative playmaker.
