There's no room for sympathy in that industry, everybody will make their way differently. If he has a natural ability, it's something you can't teach.
I've not seen the film and if he's a joke in it then I'll comment on his poor performance afterwards.
Watched the second half of the Revenant last night, and while it did not reach the levels of the first half I still enjoyed it, the photography and sound track were standouts, the story line seemed a bit rushed and lost out because of it. It is often the case for me that the endings of films or any other fiction for that matter is nearly always an anti climax compared to the beggining. A bit like watching Sunderland of late.

Although that did turn when Orca chased the Paddy **** for hundreds of miles.
I'll have a look at that later as I see it is a western. Can recommend"The Homesman" if you like the grittier westerns.

Westerns aren't my flavour, I doubt I'll ever bother watching one. Cowboys just do not interest me.

I'm not a huge fan of the genre myself but sometimes I'm in the mood for one.
For what it's worth my wife can't stand westerns and she really enjoyed Bone Tomahawk, it's more like a film that happens to be set in that era than a straight western if you get me. It had a bit of a Tarantino flavour to it in a low key way.
My wife wouldn't watch it, if I paid her £500 mate. Her attention span is awful.
I'm taking her to see Trainspotting 2 when it's released at the cinema and I'm already anticipating her falling asleep.
It gets on my nerves a bit when I put something class on and she won't give it a fair go, you can take a wife to water but you can't make her drink eh.
Trainspotting looks quality from the trailers, like it never went away.
I managed to get her through about 3 series of Lost, cos she fancied Sawyer, and I've got her into Shooter recently, because she fancies Ryan Phillipe, so basically if I want her to watch something with me, there has to be a bloke in it that she can flick one off to.
BT might be a hard sell unless she's got a thing for Kurt Russell. Who hasn't to be fair.

, I've just watched the original 3.10 to Yuma with Glen Ford, to see how it compared to the recent one with Russell Crowe, both very good films if you like the genre. While watching them it occurred to me why I like westerns, apart from the obvious storyline etc, its the period, its architecture, and most of all the trains, even though they make only brief appearances in most films, now there's a touch of trainspotting she might enjoy, and you never know, we live in hope, we have too.
