Kuyt has admitted that he came close to joining Spurs a year before he joined Liverpool. We dodged a bullet there,

I disagree. Kuyt may not have been a goal machine, but he worked his arse off in every game.
Consistently decent with a great attitude. Pochettino would love him.
Far too ugly to play for us though, unfortunately. <whistle>

  4. I was thinking much the same (not necessarily about the looks! lol) - always impressed me with his commitment and I think he was well regarded in Mouserland.

Donkey Dirk had a nasty habit of scoring against Spurs.

You obviously don't rate Lamela as much as most Spurs fans then. He got of to a bit of a slow start but nowadays is 10 times the player Kuyt ever was/is/wished he could have been.

Kuyt was signed as a striker and ended up as a central midfielder. Only an idiot would claim that was a successful signing!

Surely he ended up (at Pool) as a winger?

I definitely remember him starting in central midfield against us at least once. Either that or he was so slow he was actually still making his way to the wing having walked out of the tunnel before kickoff...

Bit like Payet at Wet Spam except he's gone from being a midfielder to a striker....well, he is on strike..

I think Klopp is trying to kill off Liverpool. Today he told the BBC

'Our passing needs to be quicker'.

I think most of us would agree with him.

I think Klopp got his wish last night, they passed into oblivion peacefully.

Next year lads. You Know What I Mean.

The combination of their chosen style of play and their bang average defence means they're always going to be vulnerable to what The Saints did tonight.
