We've got some sad news to bring you Former England manager Graham Taylor has died at the age of 72
They (The Sun) did it again with David James's donkey ears, after he upended Zidane causing a penalty in a game against France - of course conveniently overlooking the fact that it was a horrendous backpass from Gerrard which put James in that impossible situation.......OF ALL pics designed to humiliate that one sticks out vividly in my mind... regretably it did translate the moment in that moment in time .. I don't think there can be or has been such an appropriate/ unappropriate situation since
Nice enough bloke..
Useless manager..
RIP.
He wasn't though. His record at club level is pretty good. He was just another victim of the poisoned chalice that is the England job.
The "extra something" that Taylor didn't have as England manager was decent players available to him.Another manager that just didn't have that extra something that makes them world class he did what he did at a time there was no £200m+ annual windfalls to rely on
That is the most idiotic statement I've read on Not606. So useless that he took Watford from Div.4 to Div.1 in 5 seasons, then from Div.3 to the Premier League in 3 seasons, took Villa back in his first season and then finished runners-up in his first season back at the top level - pretty useless eh?Nice enough bloke..
Useless manager..
RIP.
As I have already mentioned your assessment of his career is idiotic - I wonder how much you have achieved in your life?He was way out of his depth at England level.
The documentary that followed him showed that very clearly.
Club level.. did ok.
