No wonder Howson has been deployed more as a defensive / holding m/f - and will be again soon, it seems. Mulumbu away at ACN, Thompson & Dorrans out injured and Tettey on the verge of a(nother) ban! Should never have jettisoned Vadis, imho <ok>

Vadis, that famously defensive midfielder! He would just add to our embarassment of riches as another bench warming attacking mid.

Bah!

..... and Scotland might even make the finals now too ......... oh hang on it is only another 16 teams
After the charades of Russia followed by Qatar, I think my interest will have waned to the point where I neither know nor care <ok>.
I can't believe those global perennial dahlings Manchester Pukenited didn't get a bye into at least the quarter-final? Missed a trick there, Infantino

Didn't we sign Godfrey as a midfielder anyway??? Not sure how long Thompson is likely to be out injured!!

The article about Tettey on a Yellow tightrope included that Thompson was back to fitness, but he had not played any football. So pair Tettey with Godfrey and when the inevitable card is brandished, hopefully thompson will have some U23 game time under his belt and be ready to push us onwards and upwards towards the playoffs.

Bah!

I used to rate Tetty, but because of his incessant yellow cards he has become a bit of a liability. A player in his position needs to be able to compete, but when you are on a yellow after 34 minutes ( or 17, or whatever, ) your effectiveness for the rest of that match is seriously diminished.

I don't necessarily see a player getting too many yellows a bad thing, means he's getting stuck in and making tackles. If he kept picking up red cards that would be a different matter.

Apologies General - I didn't read the full article and hopefully we may get to see him play at least part of the game against the Villains under 23s on Thursday. I'm also optimistic of seeing JM, as he didn't play in the PL2 game against WetSham last night.
