When i left this monring they were sitting with 25 overs left and really not enough time to get them.. cook played a stupid shot as did jennings but moeeen and bairsotw were in. 25 overs. bascially thats a pathetic failure form england again. india did not leave themselves enough time and once again england simply implode when a draw is easily there to take. moeen plays a **** swipe at a ball... no ****ing patience.... then the last six wickets fell for 15 runs. there is no other way to call that but utterly pathetic. however we've seen once more the stupid decisions coming home to roost. moeen playing too high to over upper order issues. Root even is too high in order. dropping anderson... just cos.... ealrier swapping and chancing of bowlers like woacks etc etc. the thing is barring a really poor debut pitch from a new ground this would have been a whitewahs as predicted at the outset of the series and frankly its just plain poor. if the rest had been 2-0 with 3 draws peopel would be ok.. india are ****ing good but england tossed 2 easy enough draws down the pan here. 103/0 to get to 207 all out when all that was needed was 10 guys to play with patience and see out a single day is a true lack of bottle.
thats why they are top of table... but... if you fall apart time after time you have to do something different. its lcealr bottle is an issue as is the gaping holes in the line up
they lost too many wickets at the wrong time but the final 350 was actually a very good final score form where they were. buttler getting one on the head then immediately after getting out was put macho bullshit on his part. He got it nearly in the neck and waved everyone off and then tonked one flat. root was good but never quite playing fast enough. They then got into a good position and failed to deliver from it in bowling. the pitch there looked a short boundary so england really needed about 400.
its still going. 300/6 but overs and batsmen running out. the real big hits need to come very quick now.
pessimist. morgan is still hanging on. theres very few overs left so a bit of luck is needed and big shots. morgan has a chance to finally be the big socre hero for england rather than captaining while others do the business
