Hello, all. Great to see my old fave, Dynaste, get out of the game in one piece. Happy retirement, old boy. At his best he was some animal and the highlight was probs the 2014 Ryainair. Although I suppose, after that impressive win, connections will always be pondering ‘what if we had waited another 24 hours…’ You follow??? But how are we all coping in the Isle now that we are living through a ‘humanitarian crisis’??? I tell you what if that bally blinkin’ brass band at Ascot strike up ‘Land of Hope and Glory’, this term, they will either (i) have the trombone shoved where the sun don’t shine, or (ii) be ‘turned off’ by those ‘Trade Descriptions’ boys. But will Royal Ascot even take place this year??? Will money from the Saxe-Coburg budget instead be channelled into the NHS??? If think we all know the answer to that one, don’t we pilgrims. Good luck, troops.

I think a Happy New Year is due from me? Is it too early to look forward to : http://www.chester-races.co.uk/racing/boodles-ladies-day ? No, of course not; count off the weeks and get that suit to the dry cleaners, it won't be long now! Not much to throw darts at today, is there? However, has the champion jockey registered the phrase "eye-catching booking" to only be applied to him or is this his new nickname on ATR? Given that, my eye is drawn to County Road in the 2.05 at Doncaster. I've not had a bet for quite some time, so I'll have a slow start to January with this one, I think. ( if that returns anything, I may then also be tempted by the McCain horses in the later races at the same venue ) Good Luck
1:30 Ma Du Fou - I don't like the Hendo hotpot and I think MDF can be first past the winning line. He isn't nailed on though.
Sad to read that Keith Reveley is calling it a day and handing in his training licence. The name Reveley has been on Northern racecards in one way or another for as long as I can remember but with James now riding full-time in France it looks like it will disappear.
For Cyclonic: On this day in 1976 at Randwick, Leonotis won at the amazing price of 400-1. Were you on mate?
For Ron: On this day in 19 something, Ribot arrives at Ascot with his stable companion, Magistris Also for Ron: Arkle and Flyingbolt .... and if you look carefully you can see The New One's grand-father plodding along in behind
Not being funny Ste but my daughter was competing successfully over much bigger obstacles at the age of 8. And yes they do motor, but more time can be saved on the turns than bombing round at 90mph
