Simon Peach @SimonPeach Marco Silva on talk of Everton's Oumar Niasse arriving at Hull: "We'll see. I will only talk about players when they sign for the club"
who was that infamous signing ... brother or something of a footballer.... maybe Souness signed him... he trained on the friday, everyone looked at themselves, came on as sub on the saturday and was taken off after 15 minutes..
What happened at Everton smacks of something beyond the football. You don't blow out a £13.5m investment on the basis on minutes played. His YouTube clip looks like he can finish and has the desire to chase down. Most of the goals on there would have been scored against a number of PL defences. He has clearly got a lot to prove, should be reasonably match fit from the U23s and is worth a chance for half a season. Couple him up with Abel and they could cause defences a real problem, put Mason in his natural position and we might, at last , press higher and give our defence a breather and our goal difference a much needed rest. This is the article, for those unable to link:
Funnily enough wiki has Dia being described as looking like 'Bambi on ice', which is another phrase my mate imparted about Niasse.
That is more than a worry - if true, it means that Silva is a yes man to a non-footballing owner. And if that is the case, then Silva is just here to try his luck, period.
When Niasse was offered a trial at Brann, he couldn't afford to go as he had to pay his own air fare from Senegal, Sonko heard about it and paid for his ticket. He might have been a **** footballer, but he had a good heart.
A knows nothing about football B apparently does and is taken on board by A with the task of rescuing a football club from relegation B brings along his experienced backroom staff too. Within two days of taking up the post to rescue the team, A tells B he has a player in mind B says yes. My confidence in B rapidly diminishes
It's not an option though is it? If he was going to argue with the owners, they wouldn't have appointed him.
Which, by extension, means that he is here to try his luck rather than taking full control of the issue.
I don't blame him at all. We can't get someone here who will demand full control because Ehab would say no. This 'head coach' bullshit has been coming for years.
