His best chance is to go to Mexico and sneak across the border before Trump gets that wall up. <whistle>

Crimes that will make you Inadmissible to the U.S.

    • A controlled substance violation according to the laws and regulations of any country. This includes trafficking and any conspiracy to commit such a crime. This includes a single offense of simple possession for a small amount of THC residue or for “drug paraphernalia.” It also includes the spouse, son, or daughter of the inadmissible applicant if that person has, within the last five years, received any financial or other benefit from the illicit activities, and knew or reasonably should have known where the money or benefit came from. No actual conviction is required to trigger this inadmissibility.

See the paraphernalia one - Tommy Chong got sent to prison in the US for that - basically having a bong whereby you can get out of that in this country under the old Betamax defence.

Just because something enables you to do something illegal, don't make that illegal.

America, of course, is a barbarous country so you can get the jail for having a grinder.

Why would any sane person want to go to America?

I hear Australia is lovely this time of the year.

There's a bit further down - most crimes that are spent or were when you were under 18 or were ages ago = cushty.

But check the weed rules <laugh> You only need to say you've smoked it at some point to get papped or possible arrested

Admitting to Drug Use or Arrest at a U.S. Port of Entry
If you committed an offense but were never convicted you could still be denied entry to the United States. The most common examples of this are when the Port of Entry Officer asks “have you ever smoked pot?” or “have you ever been arrested, charged or fingerprinted?” If you answer yes, and describe anything which would suggest that you may have committed an serious offense, you can be deemed inadmissible even if there is nothing in your database record. There are also examples of people being prevented from visiting the country when they had made prior public acknowledgements of illegal drug use and those statements ended up in their FBI or RCMP record.

I'd contact the Embassy over here and fess up to your previous. They can advise on what would or wouldn't constitute a current issue or restriction.

You used to be able to fill out the white and blue visa waiver form when you were on the plane but after those pesky scamps flew into the Twin Towers (allegedly) it has got a bit tighter and you now need an ESTA. These are electronic and if your deets are on any sort of Old Bill database chances are you'll come a cropper when they check you out.

I have no idea if Mexico or Canada are any more lenient but you'd look a bit chumpy trying to cross the border and get found out.

I'd fully recommend trying as America is fantastic. Shame it is full of gun toting lunatics.

Unless you're into seeing something like Niagara or the Grand Canyon I wouldn't bother. There's **** all different there that you can't see anywhere else and as Grove said the place is coast-to-coast with actual spastics.

Aye it'll show up. Take Groves advice. Still no guarantee. Yank customs can still knock you back at the airport after you've forked out for flights and digs.
