A few who don't understand the term might but there are many parts of the world where human rights which we take for granted are denied and those who seek even basic freedoms are imprisoned, tortured and sometimes killed. The events of the last few days present an ugly picture of Britain, but we spent centuries fighting for democracy, freedom of speech, living wages, and employment rights among others. To suggest that 'human rights' is some kind of cover for criminality is at best misleading, at worst highly inaccurate.
so far our game with yourselves tomorrow is still on. but from what i have heard, riots has started again in south bristol (city area) which may put tomorrow in doubt. basically just have to wait and see what happens tonight
do hope this is on tomorrow been looking forward to this for ages. was kept awake by the helicopters over stokes croft and st pauls last night, lets hope it doesn't kick off again tonight!
So no human rights for murderers, rapists, paedophiles, arsonists - - what groups have i missed here - large scale robbers?, GBH ? - hang it all let's deny human rights to every criminal shall we ?
That's a real classy answer Theo............. Now if you could just repeat it 1000 times over on other threads some people might see what you're writing.
Until we can regain control of our cities , yes Leo , what happens if al this would have kicked off next year ! London 2012 cancelled? costs involved in damages ticket cancellations doesnt even bear thinking about! Until we can get the message across that mindless looting and wanton destruction and attacking emergency services is wrong we need to get a bit tougher! How much do think your car and house insurance premiums will go up next year to help pay for this!
69 if you read it properly it said there is a match being played at Watford on Wednesday which was the international match which has now been called off and i think Saturday will be called off,it makes sense, football will only add to the problems, and its a ready made situation for groups to gather and cause trouble, especially if they are away from home, all games should be off this weekend!! even though i dont want the idiots to win.
Thats the thing how much is this going to cost us all,and its not over yet i think it will peak at the weekend when football matches are being played remember the last time!!
I cant see a reason for the WFC V DCFC match being cancelled, unless the violence spreads to our fair town. The matches only usually only have a small police presence who are used to shepherd the away fans to and from the ground, other than that they dont do a lot. Its mostly stewards. So there should not be a problem. I hope!! Fingers crossed!!
London games aren't called off, so assume Watford will not be either; SkySportsNews Sky Sports News Football League confirm all games in London this weekend will go ahead as scheduled.
However the Tottenham game is called off. I dont see why Watford games are affected anyway. We are well out the way of London and there is only a small police presence. We can use the stewards to police the ground.
I think Tottenham is called off because the area is still considered a crime scene, so closed off. Police won't sign off a safety certificate in time. Watford was a possible call-off, I assume, because we also use the Met police. Highly unlikely any trouble will start at the game, but imagine if it did with no police present?
I get the point, but there are plenty of police in london now and i dont think there will be trouble. The sensible option will be to let it go on and show that the idiots dont rule!
