I think in the first games this season, the players had more of a free hand to do what they felt was right and once he had the job on permanent, Mike Phelan introduced a more zonal method. Players had to keep to the plan even if it was not working.

Is that what they were playing - the zonal method? It was that bad I couldn't honestly tell! Everyone has a player he's responsible for - that's the best way.

Before the end of Feb we've got Bournemouth, Liverpool, Man U, Chelsea and arsenal. Which 3 games do you fancy glp?

Bournemouth at home's a shoe in. They don't travel particularly well and we owe them for that spanking at their place. A surprise result on any of the others and a draw would be a great outcome.

Other teams pull off shocks against the top teams, why not us?

For me he can use the cup games to experiment with the side. The real value is maintaining league status. I really aren't interested in the cups this year. Hope he uses the 3 matches wisely, as a training experimental opportunity when league points aren't at risk. Bollocks to progressing.
Agree in the FA cup , but surely not going to just throw the towel in on a semi final? .. I'd give my right nut to see City win a cup final at Wembley

There are definitely fixtures remaining that we 'could' win. We really do need to take points off our bottom 3 rivals. Sunderland Home, Swansea Home, Middlesbrough Home, Burnley Home. That's 4 games we could definitely win.
Lets hope he brings an attacking style and we've got a chance but he needs players

Dawson was injured. Jak was in goal, the CBs didn't crowd him. It wasn't perfect, but it was better. With 3 in the back we ned disciplined space and comand from the GK.

I've long been an advocate of dropping Marshall for Jak. More assured and vocal and the defence don't play as deep when Jak is in goal.

It's also that bravado of 13 fit players. All players played with a willingness to prove the doubters wrong. We just don't see that same appetite on the pitch at the moment.

I have a feeling that we will do again, very shortly.

Forest turned down Marco Silva in the summer
It turns out, Marco Silva was interviewed for the Nottingham Forest job in the summer, but didn't get it.

A striker coach! Hallelujah! He just needs a striker to work with now![/QUOTE]
didnt EA say there were 5 or 6 incoming?

The revenue from retained PL status is far better to help build and progress the club than anything a league cup win would do.

No it wouldn't, it would be spunked on more new players and we'd be sat here in 12 months saying "I just wanna stay up this season, because the money next year will help move the club forward".
