You could try taking him and the blanket to a open box or bed if you have one for him. The blanket with his scent should provide some comfort. Or you can wait his natural curiousity will get the better of him eventually. Also given you are like some giant unfamiliar king kong figure to him at the moment, giving him some room might help too. And don't forget if he is litter trained or if he isn't, show him early where the tray is too. Has he got a name yet? Bah!
Yes definitely, just tip the box up, so that he slides out. Don't be at all surprised if he then goes into hiding (mine hid behind the washing machine for 2 days), but he'll come out when he's ready. Just make sure you leave some food and water out for him. I used to feed mine Aldi 'all-in-one' dried food and the vet always remarked how good her gums were from not eating tins/sachets etc.
Thanks General. I've left him for the past 30-40 minutes and I think he was falling asleep. He should know his way around a little tray from the rescue Centre. If he doesn't come out soon, I might take off the top part and lift him out and take his blanket out. Take the carry case away. Then he will have to explore. I want him to explore before it gets dark and before GF comes home. Other wise I'm going to worry about shutting him up for the night alone. He as spent his whole life with a mum and 4 sister until today... We are calling him Tiggy.
I took the lid off, he darted behind the telly and stand. So I put the sheet, and the toys from the carrier, and put them in his bed, put the bed right next to the telly, and he eventually snuck in there. I talked to him a lot to calm him down, then I just went for it. Stuck my hand in, and was stroking him for about 15 minutes. Until eventually I think he went to sleep. It's hard to tell, coz you cant really see him in there!
Did they not do a cat-tent with yellow and green blotches all over it? What's with all the red and orange malarkey? Small steps, buddy but you / he's taken the first one
I see from a report that A&E departments are still struggling with people turning up who should go elsewhere for treatment!!!!!
How's Tiggy taking to his new home? Left any presents for you this morning? I bet you GF couldn't leave him alone Bah!
Tiny bit one sided that, I wonder how Salunke might fair against his own teams bowlers? One way or another even against pies it takes some feat of concerntration to get to 1009* without giving up a chance or two that would be taken. Will we see Dhanawade's name in lights having been the latest batter to batter England next tour of India? Bah!
He was very good. We used the litter tray, he ate all his food that he hadn't touched all day. He'd only knocked the remote control on the floor, and knocked a tea towel down. That was it! He still hid under the sofa all morning. So we haven't really had any time with him yet. At work now, but trying to finish up so I can get home. He's been shut up again on his own for 5 hours so far.
Damn got there before me! I guess in this instance it's fools seldom differ! I hope you both covered it properly! Bah!
I had to show him were to go!!! He's been exploring all over the kitchen today! He's gotten brave, only when I'm not in the room. I can see him climbing around through the window doors.
