QPR will listen to offers for Polter

QPR will listen to offers for Sebastian Polter during this month’s transfer window.

The German striker, 25, has scored 10 goals in 51 league appearances since being signed from Mainz in the summer of 2015.

Manager Ian Holloway is in no rush to offload Polter and is ready to recall him to the Rangers squad following a recent injury – the player has been nursing a back problem but has returned to training.

However, Holloway is keen to strengthen his squad and would happily reinvest the money in a new striker if a buyer for Polter is found.

Polter has indicated that he would welcome a return to Germany.

It is shaping up into yet another manic transfer window at QPR, who are again looking to make changes.

Holloway has had a fall-out with Karl Henry, who has been told he can leave, while Tjaronn Chery has had a transfer request granted by the club.

Jeez whats going on? Does anybody want to stay? I thought last Summer was our big clear out. Didn't expect another one so soon. Just hope we have some replacements lined up.

He may not be the most gifted forward we have ever had, but he has character and I will miss him if he goes. He has also improved a bit. Another one who has played through abuse from his own team's fans (it was disgraceful at Birmingham last season, I was ashamed). Why should a bottom of the Championship team expect to find better?

The fact that he would be happy to go back to Germany would seem to indicate that Holloway is struggling to get some of the players to buy in to whatever it is he is doing.

He didn't have the greatest ability and was quite often frustrating to watch.....but he had really grown on me and started to show some passion and, so I thought, some love for our club.
I'll be sad to see him go and as others have said, I hope we've got a replacement lined up.

Disappointing, I've a lot of time for Polter. We may not get an offer for him, I know he's not prolific but we don't have many striking options so really hope we don't gamble by letting him go.

Another mass clear-out on the cards......

with numerous untried lower league players probably coming in to replace them.......

So much for continuity........start.......stop......mix it up........stop........mix it up.......start........stop.......repeat ad infinitum.........

He's not gone yet, it did say Ollie isn't in any rush to offload him so all depends on the right offer.

Was going to post this but you've done it clearly. Another new squad until Ollie falls out of favour. Oh well.

SLF said that one of the problems when he came into the club was that there was too much player turnover. This prevented the squad from settling and the target was to get this down to one, two or three movements per transfer window. I could understand it when we had to get rid of all of our overpaid mercenaries but most of these players have joined the club on his watch.

I won't cry if he moves on but let's not do what we did before and get rid of players before we find BETTER replacements. Having a mediocre player for a position we're lacking in is better than lacking in that position even more.
