Another one of my (roughly) three-yearly "wish the rules could allow referee's to produce red cards for cynical shirt pulls like that" incidents.

Damn, I'm still worried we will be the last team to lose to Hull this season.

Paul Clement is the new Swans manager. Not a bad choice that one, even if I don't know if they can be saved.

It's another gamble for me. Not a bigger one than Bradley, no. But still a gamble. He no doubt has immense experience as a No.2 (but then again, I'm sure Mike Phelan does too...), but he doesn't scream relegation survivor to me. And he only lasted 2 minutes at Derby.

Still, until we see what they do in the transfer window, it's hard to comment too much. They can still be saved if they get next month right.

He did fairly well at Derby, but got sacked because he was apparently too concerned with winning promotion and wanted a bit of investment.

They also sacked McClaren at the end of the season, and got into another fight with Nigel Pearson in October that saw him leave. Not sure I'd place most of the blame on Clement; Derby is approaching Italian levels of managerial turnover.

What to give for a CM who can score...

Or just get into the box...

There were people on here who said Wijnaldum wasn't worth going for, but he is exactly the type of midfield player we need. One who will get into the box AND score a few goals.
Even before Lallana left, I wanted a second, similar type of player, so if one had an off day, the other might step up. Now we need two, preferably 6ft, powerful and athletic. I also think that is what Claude needs to get the team playing in the style he wants (although it still mystifies me as to why we employed a manager who would set about changing how the team played, given that the club had spent so many years recruiting players to play the so called Southampton Way).
