If you have ever wondered why they dim the lights on a aircraft before landing, here is the reason.

A pilot has revealed the real reason flight attendants always dim the lights on a plane for takeoff and landing.

The cabin is darkened as a safety precaution in case there is an accident, according to British pilot Patrick Smith.

'Dimming the lights allows your eyes to pre-adjust to darkness' said Mr Smith, author of Cockpit Confidential.

Great work that Hornet <applause> Anyone remember the original Roary? Got himself arrested at Hendsford? He used to go up into the south stand and brawl with the young lads. Kicked oppo subs arse when they were warming up. Didn't he sign for Exeter?

So Tevez is going to be paid an absolute fortune for kicking a ball around in Shanghai. I thought this was amoral until I read a story today about the "moral" code laid down by outlawed thugs in Afghanistan where a thirty year old woman has been publicly stabbed and beheaded for an "act of infidelity"...she went shopping without her husband who was visiting Iran. Everything is relative I suppose.
