    **** that...

Not sure many Bolton fans would agree with all the doom and gloom on here having just won eight on the bounce. If (and still a very big if) we are relegated, we will no doubt have a comparably more enjoyable time winning some games in League 1 - and it's all about winning... whatever division we are in.

Did anyone here not enjoy promotion from League 2 more than staving off relegation from the Championship in 2009-10 or being relegated twice in 4 seasons from the PL?

The Premier League - and this is only my opinion - is a borefest... a procession of corporate sameness week after week that turns fans into 'witless' consumers and promotes short term gratification and unsustainable spending among smaller teams... the actual process of attaining promotion is great, but the 'reward' is a great big poisoned chalice of relentless misery.

The measure of success for teams outside the top 6 rarely means anything other 'consolidation' with the occasional ray of sunshine of a cup run.

Whether you aim for 17th or 21st, being a struggling team is indeed ****. But there is nearly always an upside if it does go tits up.

Your alternative is becoming a pawn in a massive corporate portfolio... just another financial speculators bubble waiting to burst... not for me thanks.

    China or the Middle East.
We need someone with an ego and wallet big enough to want to make little ol' QPR a proper rival to Chelsea but with the business and footballing acumen to be able to do it.

Don't forget, we are a West London Club near fashionable Westfield and a short hop to Central London. That may appeal to some and a new owner might be able to deal with Cargiant without irritating them to hell and back!

Nice thought but as we've discovered, money is not a cure-all.

What and have us turning into a clone of Manchester City? Used to quite like them as a club, the odd success but more years of misery than most, relegation to 3rd Division, scraping out in Play Off, knew their limits, had a modicum of ambition........then they get taken over by a country and they're now just a clone of Real Madrid, Barcelona and countless other corporate entities, buying success and receiving polite applause from the audience........Nah sod that for a lark......

Apparently Ollie is now odds-on for the bullet in the Championship sack race, doesn't take long these days...

Yeah, we could have some of that, the likes of Messi, Ronaldo and other top world players gracing the turf of our shiny new swanky stadium. Winning the Premier league, other assorted trophies and being nailed on for Champions league every season and winning more often than not.
But then again, bollocks I like supporting a crap team.

..sadly this phase is what I believe alcoholics are going through...we have at least admitted our condition and are attending the AA sessions.... maybe our sponsor and group sessions could have been better but we need to stick at it as it is a long road to gain control and turn the ship around. Throwing money at the fire that has burned at the club sadly back (draft) fired and new shoots will again appear ...sometime. The squad needs to be built organically ... alas this could take a decade to be a strong championship squad and possible might mean a couple of seasons getting down and dirty. The performances recently haven't been as bad since the closing games of JFH...it is just there is absolutely no treat to the opponent goal. However a sprinkle of good fortune and a few points could steady the ship - so on a positive forecast we could get our act together in 3 or 4 years.....I do think when Washington does move for peanuts his form will return ..... who would have thought Damien Delaney could hold down a Premier league place?

Some good points raised there but being relegated is no guarantee we will start winning, look at Portsmouth and Coventry. TF has had five and a half years and quarter of a billion pounds to get things right and we now face the prospect of starting next season two divisions below where he started with us.

We have simply been shafted by a procession of greedy, selfish, mostly washed-up players who have shown no pride in wearing the hoops. They've mostly been replaced by a bunch of talentless never-will-be's who are managed by someone with the right attitude but who has been left behind by the modern game. Add to that every major appointment made by TF has been an unmitigated disaster and it's easy to see why we currently resemble the Titanic. And the band played on...

    And minus a paddle.

Un-****ing-believable. I have now resigned myself to relegation to League One, for the benefit of my own mental health. Even if we stay up I can't see how things are going to get any better, with what Terry-Thomas would call 'this absolute shower' in charge. Only 4 seasons ago we were in our second season in the PL, what should have been our consolidation season. We ****ed that up, becoming totally dependent on the largesse of the owners in the process, stuck with Dedcrapp who fluked us a totally misleading promotion before he jumped ship. Spent a fortune, made no concrete progress off the pitch, become a generally disliked laughing stock and ended up in a worse place. That's some achievement. But not one to be proud of.

It is a relief to win but in a strange way I think this puts more pressure on Monday.
Will the one win be a flash in the pan or actually a marker of Ollie beginning something new?
It is good to be two losses away from the drop zone but lose on Monday and much of today's feel good will evaporate.
Encouragingly, and since this was a betting themed thread, the bookies think we are more likely to win on Monday.
I think we owe Ipswich for the debacle at their place so. like all of you who are there, I will be cheering my support and hoping for a good win.
