Why what's Henriksen done to annoy you? Apart from being played out of position. Bowen isn't far off, but we're obviously going to be looking at another striker in the window, Abel will be back and we'll also have Dio so there'll still be three ahead of him. Then Mbokani will come back and we'll have 4 ahead of him; can't see us staying in the cup for very long so a loan move to the Championship might be just the ticket to prepare him for next season.
Lets hope this isnt true, from HDM We're interested in Matty James from Leicester!! A centre mid, just what we ****ing need.
I wouldn't bother playing either at the moment, the lads are doing alright, but Henriksen played in the AM role for AZ and for Norway, so if I had to: --------------Marshall---------------- Elmo----Maguire------Dawson--------A-Bob ---------------Clucas---------------------- -------------Thudd---Jake---- ---------------Henriksen---------- --------Snodgrass----------Mbokani
This window will be worse than the last. Someone mentioned on Twitter that none of the players who got 1 year extensions tweeted their new deals....says it all. Any player from the middle of the Championship upwards would be mad to join us! Jenkinson! **** off! He'll take one look at Ehaw's dopey face, turn around and head back to London. I bet Abel can't wait to get out!
Probelm seems henriksen and mason prefer the same role another blinding bit of recruitment lets buy two players for one position a position thats not a priority too hahaha
Well they are in but i cant see that working as we are so narrow. He's got Mcormack i doubt he'd want Rhodes.
It is a narrow formation, but it would be a decent option as a plan B when all our inevitable crossing doesn't work. The full backs would provide the width if we needed crosses. I'm still trying to get my head around how Conte makes his 3-4-3 work, whatever it is it seems to be working and it can't be a million miles away from our 3-5-2 formation in terms of shape. As for Rhodes, he does have McCormack, but I think Brucey would still go for him as a makeweight if Gestede is going the other way.
Oh I just thought it interesting that you're looking for someone to justify their - seemingly in your opinion - unjustly negative opinion on someone from our club. Being 'played out of position' appears to be a continually trotted out excuse - some might suggest if he was good enough he'd earn the right to be played 'in his position' - yet a club record unbeaten away run and a hoighty attitude with the media justifies hate.
Henriksen has done nothing to impress me and that's what annoys me. Had very little impact, and in the last 2 games MP seeing him as a suitable sub for Livermore just ridiculous. If he's been played put of position, I'm interested to know what his position is. He doesn't look like he could cope with being a central midfield player - too lightweight and doesn't look up for a tackle. What's he supposed to be? I say all this desperately hoping he and Mason will turn it round.
If we played him in his position it would mean changing the formation, but even when we didn't play that formation we played him out of position. The only time I've seen him played like he was in Holland was against Stoke in the league cup, playing behind the front two and he ended up scoring the winning goal. He also played further forward against Newcastle and assisted Snodgrass' equaliser. Then back in the league we stick him deep as a CM where he's less effective. Play Dawson at RB and you won't see him play anywhere near as well as he does at CB, some players just aren't very versatile, or at least need a few games in the right place to settle into the league. As for Pearson, I already explained that I didn't like him at Leicester, so he wasn't top of my list of favourite people when he joined the club, just because he became our manager didn't mean I had to like him. And sure enough as soon as the Leicester job came in, he went straight back there again. I don't give a **** if we went on a big away run, it got us nothing. We finished mid table, then did the same the following season. The real boon about Pearson was the scouting team he assembled, the signings he made I put down to Shakey and Walsh, but even then with those signings some of the football we played was eye-wateringly dull. I can't remember which game it was, but even NP after one defeat said "it was crap" (might've been the 4-1 defeat to Leeds).
My take is that Phelan is desperate to get information to Ehab about potential signings he would like to see, and he's getting very little communication back, if not no communication at all. That's pretty much how it went in the Summer, as far as I recall.
I suspect Henriksen's intended role is in the three behind the striker in the 4231 formation we played at the start of the season. Except Diomande and Snodgrass presently do the wide positions better.
I don't get how he's supposed to have an impact playing as a tackling midfielder? It'd be like asking Mbokani to play as a left winger, he'd give it a go but he's not going to be as effective as an actual left winger is he? Henriksen is sadly a victim of the formation we've chosen to play, so he'll have to be patient. Mason isn't going to do any better coming in and playing as a winger either, especially given that he's never played there in his career and has none of the abilities a winger needs to have. That's more down to bad management by MP than Mason being a poor footballer. Now we're playing Snodgrass as a striker and leaving Dio, an actual striker, on the bench. We do love a good square peg don't we?
