We are playing with an injured goalie, no forwards who can score regularly, an average midfield and we are still 8th. Thought the first two Spurs goals were soft. Frazier could have come for first goal and someone left Kane with a free header. Even before the sending off we were awful, constantly losing the ball by aimless punts forward. When Victor is able to surge into the area and shoot you know something is not right. Should have been 6 or7 for Spurs. We can't be that bad against WBA, can we?

Now I have calmed down. Spurs deserved the win, we should have kept up our high press, for more than 20mins! We where unfortunate with the deflections that put them in on goal, but we are so piss poor upfront, we desperately need a strong target man!

Reactions: The Ides of March
Interesting reading comments about Redmond. For us he was a lazy little bugger, pulled out of challenges, couldn't be bothered to defend, and only turned up properly 1 out of 3/4 games. When we have a player doing that sort of thing now, we say he's "doing a Redmond"! Good luck with him, I wasn't sorry to see him leave us.
Now you tell us!

Frustrating having creative/flair players like Sofiane and Dusan but no one you have ultimate faith in to make the right movements and, crucially - like Son did - take the one chance when it comes.

Absolutely.... but this in my eyes is the difference between top 6 and the rest. They can either afford that premium ability up front or can afford to wait and cherry pick from the rest.

This is why I believe/hope Kat wants some added investment.

We're not a million miles off, we just lack an effective, consistent striker.
Not sure, I think we lack effective consistent build up play, I thought Jay was excellent in the first 30 mins with his running and closing, but generally through the game we struggled to create ( again)

Agreed about Forster. He has quickly gone from one of the best keepers in English football to one of the most inconsistent in the league. That performance and a few In recent months have been woeful.
Bloke sat next to me in the pub said that he thought Frazers distribution was awful. Tried to explain that he seemed to be carrying an injury. No back up is going to cost us.

Important game for me coming up is the FA Cup against Norwich. Hope Claude puts out a full strength team to win that one as the Liverpool game a few days later will take care of itself. No point in putting out a second 11 against Norwich as there is no guarantee that the "rested" first choice will dispose of Liverpool in the next match.

Sorry, but have to disagree here Have to play youth and reserves. Have to be fresh for Liverpool.

Disagree , the defining moment will be the semi final

Those first 17 minutes were the best football I have seen under Puel. A lucky deflection leading to an equaliser (but fair play, they took the goal well whilst we were caught flat footed) and then a decent goal to give them a deserved 2-1 lead. I would have been prepared to accept that as a result because Spurs controlled the game for long periods and were marginally the better team. Our problem (for which Spurs must take credit) is they cut the supply off to JRod so he was effectively isolated and thus neutralised.

But that penalty (I'll watch it again later) was never a penalty in my view. The tackle was outside the box and as Redmond fell he instinctively put his arm out. Booking might have been fair but a red? AND a penalty. Give me a break.

Despite that, for am moment we looked like we might even steal a draw but when you push that hard you inevitably leave big gaps at the back so the final score was very flattering. Good finishes though. Overall a good game for the neutral I suspect. Two good sides who will both finish in the top half this season.

Let's get back on track Saturday

It was out of the box so it wasn't a penalty. But at the end of the day he did deny a clear goal scoring opportunity by pulling him back. So he had to go.
