Or maybe rookie Phelan outsmarted Pep Guardiola for over an hour today but doesn't have a Sheikh Mansour to keep world class quality on the bench?

The fault is 100% with our owners.
If you don't like Phelan, who else do you think would accept to manage this sorry car crash of a club?

Any lower league manager that would want managing a PL team on their CV.
 
I was delighted to see huddlestone come off,thought he must be injured as he had been outstanding along with the big nuisance up front
Tactically Phelan had got it pretty on up to that point as we really struggled to make any inroads in between the lines where we really look to hurt teams and but for a brainfart from the lad in the box on our black John Inman it could've gone either way
Special mention for the referee who thinks all 50/50s go to the "bigger club",his performance was dire and does far more harm to the game as a whole when ridiculous leniency is allowed to one team fouling consistently over the other. Used to happen to us all the time so it's easy to see it in reverse and it's not your paranoia kicking in.

You mean like say Graham Alexander at Scunthorpe?
A long and promising managerial career beckons, no way would he soil his cv by coming here under the present regime.

An old has been on the way down would probably jump at the chance, but would be laughed off the training ground by the players

You and me both, seemingly fans in the ground can see the obvious that our increasingly frustrating manager can't.

I thought Toure could have had at least 3 or 4 yellow cards today.

So if Huddlestone had stayed on Robertson wouldn't have made a mistake which cost us the game? Come off it.

Cause and effect. Simple stuff.

Thought ref got better as the game slipped away from us and he started giving us a few decisions.
But he bottled at least 3 yellow cards for you, as he's yet another **** who wants to keep his head down and keep his place on the gravy train.

No one in particular but it seems to be a general consensus, yet again, that our defeat was down to one simple factor that anyone on here could have avoided. Absolutely nothing changed with Huddlestone coming on (although yes he had played very well). We happened to concede the inevitable penalty just after him coming off. To believe that the two are linked is as daft as native Americans believing that their ritualistic rain dance was the reason for the drought ending the following day.

I was thinking more like Rowett, Alexander wouldn't be too bad either but the comp from Scunthorpe would be a pretty big wedge.
 
Does Phelan feel compelled to bring Henriksen and Mason on because he signed them both? I must question the standard of the Netherlands's Eredivisie because than Henricksen does even look Championship standard, he is so lightweight and cannot cope with the physicality of the Premier League. As for Ryan Mason, he looks as if has never been further north than Watford and is pining for a jellied eels and mash shop. I suspect Moyes up at Sunderland is feeling happy he dodged a bullet.

Also did anyone else see the photo of Abel on the plane with his parents heading off somewhere (probably back home to Uruguay) it was posted on Abel's instagram account 3 days ago, looks like he won't be back until the new year at least.

The fact we paid Rochdale £40,000 compensation for the loss of Dolan is a never ending source of amusement.

They'll know we are in the Premier League and ask something daft for him; I don't know how long he has left on his contract, but I'd guess at around £1m. Same thing they'd do if we went in for Paddy Madden.
