You are missing the point Durbar...I am going to reiterate once more

...and I will not be responding on this thread again.

Finglas was not defending murderous terrorists. He was pointing out that the IRA were not the only terrorist organisation involved in the Irish Troubles. That is a plain statement of facts..

And you were running down our armed forces.
Something that I suspect pissed some off.

Anyway, I can see this getting out of hand so let's all take a step back eh?

There were more French civilians killed by allied bombing in WW2 than British killed by the Luftwaffe. Euphemistically called collateral damage.

Source?

Yeah........always best to hate and blame your own country eh atrolls?
It's the left wing way after all.

Is this your idea of stepping back eh Col? Strolls post to which you are replying went up 7 hours ago, why not just let it go?

I read the statistic a while back, Col. Wiki has it that 68,778 French civilians were killed by allied bombing.....

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bombing_of_France_during_World_War_II

......and that 60,595 British civilians were killed by the Luftwaffe

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strategic_bombing_during_World_War_II

This second wiki page has a slightly lower number for French deaths at 67,078.

Here's a BBC piece which has the number of French deaths a bit lower again...

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-27703724

....but I was not trying to apportion blame, merely drawing attention to a little-known fact about the very high number of French 'collateral damage' deaths.
