Alan Pardew: Crystal Palace sack manager with club 17th in Premier League
Crystal Palace have sacked manager Alan Pardew with the club 17th in the Premier League.
Pardew was appointed on a three-and-a-half-year deal in January 2015 but the 55-year-old has been dismissed after a run of one victory in 11 games.
Palace have taken just 26 points from their last 36 Premier League matches and are only one point above the relegation zone.
Former England boss Sam Allardyce is the bookmakers' favourite to take over.

I'll go against the masses and say that I like Alan Pardew. Bit of a nutter, seems arrogant, but actually quite cool imo.
After his dance in the FA Cup final it was only going one way unfortunately. I would gladly have him as QPR manager in the future.

Yes, Pardew is Perdu - at least the timing is good for Palace to bring someone in (Big Sam?) and make a go of it for the rest of the season, freshening up the squad in January. Even with the players currently have on their books, I doubt if they'll be down there come end of season. Note Palace only have a -4 GD too.
He always seem to start well with a club then fade rapidly. Perfect for us, a good start would be novel.
Hadn't realised that Pardew had slagged off the American owners of Palace earlier this month. Death wish. Really interesting interview with Simon Jordan on the radio just now, on the psychology of owners and managers. Couple of things were close to home for us - do. owners know why they are sacking a manager, do they know enough about who they are appointing (largely on reputation), do managers understand that they are employees?
Methinks most the time it's a knee jerk reaction.
Not too much thought goes into it, all based on outside pressures. ( fans, media, shareholders and alike ).
Perception is everything.
It looks like Allardyce is going to be their new manager. Football has no shame.
For an example of high moral standards, football isn't the place to look.
It's quite depressing to think that Allardyce can just waltz back into a job 2 months after being shown up as someone with no scruples what so ever and looking to make a quick buck.......this probably explains so of the reasons that people are so disenchanted with football in general and the Premier League in particular.......
