Not sure if this has been done before but I propose we nominate Mark to carry the Olympic torch for his fantastic achievements over the pond. He has raised over £60k for his charity and that is sure to rise significantly with the more media coverage he has been getting.

Totaly agree with you mate, not sure he'd fancy running with it <laugh> but certainly worthy to carry it.

I've e-mailed Niall & Biffa from NUFC.com and put it to them.

They have come back with:
Thanks , this has been discussed and various commercial organisations have similar schemes - I think that Mark might be covered on this one already.

Let me check and if not we'll go with it.

Good stuff.

Mark is back on Friday so I assume he will be at the match on Saturday. Will be great to honour him.
 
Deserves all the coverage he can get, £60K is an amazing amount to raise. But for what he's done should be alot more IMO, if it wasn't for these pricks rioting I'm sure he'd get a lot more national coverage.

I would have hoped Sky Sports would have had a phone call with him or something, bests whining about Frank Lampard having a ****ing cold.

Does anyone know if the American press printed anything about him?

I've seen it on ITV news last night, they had bits of his phone call from Real Radio on it.

Tempted to e-mail Sky sports about it, but saying that they don't like any positive news coming from the North East!!!!!
