    Are the Chinese mad?
They want to pay twice the going rate for a decent ish player who has a year left on his contract.
Oscar normally i'd say would be worth £30m in todays market, with only a year left? £20-25m MAX.
No way we can refuse if they are offering £60m.

What do we think of the James rumours?

Obviously a class player but not sure he'd suit the P.L and it's a lot of money

Don't need to spend 75M on James when we've already got Pedro, Hazard & Willian. I feel like the only way we could improve our squad right now is by adding some squad depth. With the form we're on our first XI is pretty much untouchable.

Not in the C.L it's not though. Our first 11 and squad still look well short of the big guns in Europe.

Not saying James is the answer but there is still room for improvement and growth in this side.

This 60m should be going straight on a Griezmann bid. Guy is absolute class and only 25. Could play off Costa as well in a 10 role.

Michy needs a fair crack before we talk of new strikers.

This isn't a rumour or anything but just pondering in light of the news Payet doesn't want to play for West Ham anymore.

Why not do a loan swap of Bats with Payet until the end of the season?

Payet will have the chance to put himself in the shop window and compete for a title, West Ham will get a striker they clearly need and will get more money for Payet in the summer if he does well at us (rather than rotting in the reserves). We get a replacement for Oscar to tie us over until the summer when we can re-explore targets. Payet would arguably come into our first team on form, where as Bats is clearly not trusted at the moment by Conte. Bats would get the chance to get some P.L mins under his belt.

    Win win all round

    Thoughts?

I like that idea but where would he fit in? Can't see him replacing anyone in our top three as everyone is on fire up there right now, which leaves only the wing backs. I can't see payer being happy to play there, nor really be that effective at it.

He'd have to fight for his place but Payet, Hazard, Costa on top form would be up there as one of the best attacking 3 in Europe outside of Barca/Real. Payet was great last season and arguably one of the best at the Euros too. Anyone who can improve your first 11 needs serious consideration, especially with P.L experience.

I see a few of the nationals are linking us with a bid this month. Can't see West Ham accepting unless there is something more than money on the table i.e a 5 month Bats loan :)

Wouldn't touch him with a barge pole.
He is a ****. Any player that goes on strike to get a transfer is not a player I want on the Books at CFC.

Wait till next season and get Alexis Sanchez on a bosman <laugh>

what about our most of our team from last year? <laugh>

Also he might have a pissy attitude but hasn't he created most of the chances in the PL this year even though he's on strike?

I wouldn't want to buy him though, too expensive for someone whos 29. I thought we'd gone past that phase of buying players that are close to being past it (luiz excluded he's CB anyway)

I fully support anyone who refuses to work for the West Ham porn duo.

I get your point but would love us to take West Ham's best player! My uncle is a massive west ham fan / bitter Frank Lampard and Chelsea hater so this would amuse me greatly.

The fact is, he is far too good for West Ham and if they refuse to sell him, it's the only realistic option to try and force their hand. This might be his last chance to move to a big club. It's not great but I can see why he is doing it.

His age is against him but he's been a bit of a late developer so maybe he will go on a bit longer? And if he only costs around half what we got for Oscar, not too bad in the short to mid term.

Bamford on verge of permanent deal to Boro. It's all been about the sales this window!

Good luck to Bamford, too much movement has probably stunted his development a bit but he's got a great goal scoring record. He'll do well there.

Another example that shows how hard it is for youth to break through our ranks.
