Who knows. Thoughts to all those affected. It's a classy bit of Berlin that, high end shops and embassies.
No consolation, but there was a special, and rather moving, Panorama on John Simpson's 50 years as a foreign correspondent earlier this evening. In it he said that, while the number of terrorist deaths has risen in recent years, it's still below the levels of the seventies. Also there are fewer wars and much fewer dictators in power.
Based on what happened in Nice, I think there is a fair chance this is a copy cat attack. Also, witnesses have said there is no way it was an accident.
BBC described it as an attack, but then went on to say police haven't called it, could be a horrible accident, like Glasgow a couple of Christmases ago.
Apparently police now saying they suspect it was a deliberate attack.

On the main shopping street in the very centre of West Berlin. There is every chance there were people there of all religions.
The driver ploughed through a Christmas market. I doubt that anyone other than christians would be there. Trump is a clown but it's still a reasonable assumption.
If there was a Christmas market on Oxford St and god forbid the same sort of attack happened, could we only assume Christians would be killed?
Trump is only trying to justify his policy of excluding Muslims from entering the USA. Every terrorist attack will be highlighted especially where it is likely that Muslims have killed Christians in order to convince Americans that his policy is right. If it was a muslim on muslim attack in Istanbul for example, Trump wouldn't bother highlighting the assumed religion of the victims.
Yea, looks more and more like a deliberate planned attack.
I suppose my point was that I feel the media automatically now jump on every incident too quickly. Tensions are already on a knife edge in Germany over Merkels open door policy. The media IMO should be balanced and responsible until sure of the facts.
