I'll see your BruvFamBlud and raise you a glorious handbags at noon between Angry Claude and Merchandise Ty....
Although I think Claude is a drama queen, it must be frustrating for him when ****ing morons like Ty and Chris just fail to see whats staring them straight in the face and delude themselves year after year. They will not win this league again while Arsene Wenger is their manager, full stop. He has very little tactical nous, he shows zero passion, he does not inspire passion in his players, he is cold, dull and ****e. The guy needs to move up to the board and let someone else have a crack. Here's hoping he stays on as manager forever
Ty, the full kit ****er with the Arsenal head phones and arsenal water.bottle and drinks like he is in danger of imminently turning to dust, is the funniest person involved in football.
I like it how you think of them as real people with feelings. I see them as characters in a hilarious sitcom. But I do get why Ty and some others are so pro-Wenger. Notwithstanding the fact that there is absolutely no point replacing him in the middle of the season, there really is a palpable fear of 'who next', compounded by watching United's prolonged journey through the post-Fergie wilderness and no doubt the additional fact that most of the world's highest-rated managers are all at the beginning of new jobs and doing relatively well (or well enough that I doubt they'd leave at the end of the season). Could they tempt Simone from Atletico? How would his combative, confrontational style work with Kroenke and Usmanov? They missed their chance to push for a big name last summer. Beyond that, it could be anyone and anyone represents a massive risk in the eyes of many fans.
No comparison. Fergie was winning titles up until his last season. Wenger hasn't won the league in 12 years....they are scared of trading zero titles for zero titles?
They are scared of having their top 4 trophy permanently usurped by teams who have steadily made ground on them over the years: Us, Liverpool, Everton, Soton. In the current PL climate awash with TV riches, it could very well happen. Financially they are the weakest/least ambitious of the other moneybags. The gap between them and you and the Manchester clubs is tangible. Liverpool and ourselves aren't far behind in terms of offering top wages...if they lose that hallowed CL aura - even for a season or two - who knows where they'll end up? My comparison to United was meant to demonstrate that once you **** it up at this level, even throwing hundreds of millions at the problem won't necessarily solve it. And Arsenal don't have hundreds of millions to throw at the problem. They'd likely lose their best performers and be fleeced for overrated replacements who charge as much but aren't as good. One wrong appointment in the dugout, and it could be a long road back for them.
Well personally I'd prefer having the lottery of finishing anywhere between 1st and 10th than knowing I will finish 3rd or 4th every year without winning the league. Wenger isn't that good ffs, that the club will implode without him. What they are basically saying is that Wenger the man, is bigger than Arsenal the club. They will lose all their best players anyway if they dont start challenging for the league properly, you know thats the reason Sanchez hasn't signed a new contract, all this **** about money is BS, he wants a pay rise for sure, but even the Arsenal board aren't stupid enough to let their best player, one of the top 10 best players in the world, leave over an extra 50k a week or whatever more than they have offered he is asking for. Sanchez wants to see where they are going and if they are a proper outfit. Because, as has been rumoured, if he wants to play for a mediocre ******* of a club without competing for the top trophies, he can do that in China, earning three times what he is in England.
So by the same token, in a league that contains the financial clout of Chelsea, City and United - which top manager would be tempted to join the 4th wealthiest club who also happen to have been living Groundhog Day for 12 years now? Surely no-one with an especially glittering CV. Perhaps an older hand to steady things? Perhaps a young up n coming gaffer like Jack Wilshere's new mate down in B'mouth? They missed a trick when Klopp became available and didn't pursue him. Right age, right philosophy, right caliber.
Think they are scared of coming 6th or 7th...watching hoof ball and watching their team in a half empty stadium. Not taking the piss but they have a lot of 20 - 35 yr old fans who do not remember truely bad seasons. Can you imagine the rantings if they had a season like Chelsea did last year or if they were struggling to make it into the top half of the table like we used to? The samaritans switch hoard would crash
I get what you are saying, it's a risk. But Liverpool managed to get klopp, you managed to get Poch, Everton managed to get Koeman. Arsenal would be a bigger draw than all three of those clubs right now, and they all managed to land decent managers. I do see what you are saying, but the other option is guaranteed mediocrity. As I have said to many an Arsenal fan, what the **** is the point in qualifying for the Champions League every year if you are not looking to build a squad capable of winning it?
Wow.Is that Alf Garnett in a Gooner shirt? I bet the silly moo is in for an earful when he gets home.Scouse git's gonna get it too!
Didn't see the match but did Ibra avoid a red card? No idea how valid the claim is but if it were true it would be a very unusual event for ManU to avoid such a thing. Been hearing Maureen's ManU being talked up at the moment, you know, they've been playing well without the results, there's games they deserved to win - you know like that never happened to any other club! Not heard anyone mention how the current "resurgence" would have gone had three red cards been given against them! I wonder what would happen if Rojo ends someone's career with a two footed assault next week? Could that player sue the FA for failing to protect him as Rojo should have been previously punished for the same thing, but since he was not (it might be argued) he carried on doing it?
Arsenal have taken 7 points from their last 21 games v the current top six - with 0 wins. 0 wins That stat is comprehensive proof that they are flat track bullies, who come out second best against teams who have comparable skill and ability, but are clearly stronger mentally and more committed.
